It has been a pleasure to coordinate work with Providence Construction at our rental house. We felt able to trust them to do the best work with variable conditions.

My chimney was separating from my 110 year old house. They discovered that the footing/foundation under the chimney was less than minimal. I also have very soft, light soil where I live. They recommended replacing the top half of the chimney with lighter blocks, adding to the foundation of the fireplace, they stuccoed and painted my chimney, and they re-directed my roof downspouts away from the house. They kept me informed through the entire process and explained very clearly what they were doing. My fireplace is beautiful now, and they left my side yard where the chimney is better than they found it. I had just had some landscape fabric and gravel laid, and I expected a mess, but they cleaned it up beautifully. I love this company.

The work quality was not as good. They have hired a subcontractor to do the fireplace stones, and they had to redo it because the job was poorly executed. There were misalignments, gaps. They quoted me one price for the job, but because it was not correctly measured, they end up doing a different style and then changed the price. Another problem the stones and construction made a lot of dust in my home. I had the floor recently done, and they haven't covered all, which made the floor get sticky with dust all over. Luckily the floor guys were able to do another finish to remove the dust.

Final project turned out as requested.

The crew were all polite, friendly and worked very well and conscientiously. The job was done very well.

Phill and Fatima have been great to work with, from highly responsive quoting and billing, to honest appraisal of work, and timely execution. They did a great job redoing the crown and capping my chimney, for a fair price, and as a result I’m asking them to do more.
