"We have been In business for 35 years under the same name, locally. That could only mean that we had pay our duties to our customers, and our obligation to others. I almost did not take this job, but fail to follow my intuition, and paid the price. I just finish framing a custom 7,150 SFcustom home in lake Allatuna before I started the Goolsbys job; the building inspection passed without a glitch. I was hire by the Goolsbys to pour a 110 Linear Feet foundation, and frame a 950 SF of house; I was not hired to loose my dignity, and be subject to insults, and aggressive accusations from Mrs. Goolsby from day one. I take my hat off to Mr. Goolsby for being a gentleman thru the process. I never left the job unattended, I have all the evidence of daily communications with Mr. Goolsby. All subs were paid, and all remaining moneys were paid back to the Goolsbys. There is such a thing as a terrible customer to deal with, and for this reason we came to an in pass, and I left the job; but not before I took care of the customers money, and the legal documentation needed for a proper exit. We are happy to have left that job, and go back to what we love most; providing our customers with great craftsmanship, and customer service."
"Mrs. S. (consumer name withheld per their request) is a sweet lady. I enjoy working with her in the renovation of her investment property in Marietta. I was hire to remove the flooring, do a full interior painting job, replace doors, install bifolds on the closets of 3 bedrooms, repair acoustical ceiling tiles, repair, and install hardware on interior french doors, repair a deck on the back of the house, stain a front porch, and replace 3 tap asphalt shingles on a flat roof, for mineral faced roll roofing. The customer was informed that the addition previously done on the back porch ( by another contractor) had an installation defect at the transition of the old, and new structure. The customer did not act on this information, and we proceeded with the work. The customer was very very satisfied with all the work, and I was paid in full. 3 weeks later the customer call me back to report that there was a leak in the area I had previously mention to her. The roof that I installed aprox.(area 8' x 16') did not leak, as it was evident by no discoloration on the new acoustical tile I replaced in that room. We even conducted a water test with a hose, and no leaks. I informed the customer, that the new leak was in the area previously mentioned to her, and I told her that the new work will cost her $175 for the labor (this would have typically cost $575 and up). The customer refuse to accept the work as additional work. I took pictures and brought them to her to explain. She did not accept the explanation, and became a little upset. We regret that we went ahead with the project even though my recommendations were ignore. We then had trouble getting access into the property which was vacant when we did the work, and the customer did not answer my calls to address the issue. She just decide to give us a bad review, and that was unfortunate, but it happened; and for that I am very sorry. We stand behind our work, and have done so for 35 years right here in Atlanta. We look forward to providing our customers with great craftsmanship, and great customer service, and continue to do what we love most; renovations, and construction."
"Makes no sense that another person came and finish the project in 1 day, Makes no sense that I under bid the project. Now she says that I underbid; however this customer was given a good rate for being a neighbor of mine, and she treated us very poorly. The customer signed a contract that clearly stipulated that changes will be treated as additional work, and an additional work form will have to be signed if there were changes. The customer forgot her contractual obligation to us, and made numerous changes with no remuneration for them. The job was very easy for us to do, and we kept going back, I was forced to pay my helpers for additional work, that was not paid to me. This was an unfortunate situation, and we regret the outcome; however she did not loose any money, we did. Lesson learned, and truthfully, I need to improve my skills interviewing customers to see if we can be a match."
