10/10 Raul is a true craftsman. He is truly skilled and meticulous when it comes to carpentry. He cares about his clients and communicates constantly. He is honest about his billing system and there are no surprises. I cannot make a stronger recommendation about a professional. I will definitely use him on all of my carpentry projects.

It was a pleasure to have Raul repair the tile in my shower. From the initial conversation (where we discussed the issue and he provided an estimate) to the final one (where I paid him a very reasonable price for the services rendered), he was polite and professional. He arrived precisely on time both days and respected social distancing (important in these times) while performing the repairs. The quality of the work was excellent. My shower now looks like new and there is no evidence that it has been repaired. For reasonable pricing and highest quality work, I highly recommend Punch Renovation and Construction. I plan to call Raul for other jobs as the need arises.

I had a horrible experience I paid him he left the job undone. my house is on 2x4 and he refuses to come back and complete the job.
Response from Punch Renovation and Construction, LLC
"We have been In business for 35 years under the same name, locally. That could only mean that we had pay our duties to our customers, and our obligation to others. I almost did not take this job, but fail to follow my intuition, and paid the price. I just finish framing a custom 7,150 SFcustom home in lake Allatuna before I started the Goolsbys job; the building inspection passed without a glitch. I was hire by the Goolsbys to pour a 110 Linear Feet foundation, and frame a 950 SF of house; I was not hired to loose my dignity, and be subject to insults, and aggressive accusations from Mrs. Goolsby from day one. I take my hat off to Mr. Goolsby for being a gentleman thru the process. I never left the job unattended, I have all the evidence of daily communications with Mr. Goolsby. All subs were paid, and all remaining moneys were paid back to the Goolsbys. There is such a thing as a terrible customer to deal with, and for this reason we came to an in pass, and I left the job; but not before I took care of the customers money, and the legal documentation needed for a proper exit. We are happy to have left that job, and go back to what we love most; providing our customers with great craftsmanship, and customer service."

I HIRED THIS GUY TO DO SOME REPAIRS ON OUR ROOF. I HAD TO CALL HIM BACK BECAUSE THE ROOF WAS STILL LEAKING. NOW, HE WON'T ANSWER MY CALLS OR RETURN MY EMAILS. BUT HE HAS THE MONEY. DON'T USE HIM.
Response from Punch Renovation and Construction, LLC
"Mrs. S. (consumer name withheld per their request) is a sweet lady. I enjoy working with her in the renovation of her investment property in Marietta. I was hire to remove the flooring, do a full interior painting job, replace doors, install bifolds on the closets of 3 bedrooms, repair acoustical ceiling tiles, repair, and install hardware on interior french doors, repair a deck on the back of the house, stain a front porch, and replace 3 tap asphalt shingles on a flat roof, for mineral faced roll roofing. The customer was informed that the addition previously done on the back porch ( by another contractor) had an installation defect at the transition of the old, and new structure. The customer did not act on this information, and we proceeded with the work. The customer was very very satisfied with all the work, and I was paid in full. 3 weeks later the customer call me back to report that there was a leak in the area I had previously mention to her. The roof that I installed aprox.(area 8' x 16') did not leak, as it was evident by no discoloration on the new acoustical tile I replaced in that room. We even conducted a water test with a hose, and no leaks. I informed the customer, that the new leak was in the area previously mentioned to her, and I told her that the new work will cost her $175 for the labor (this would have typically cost $575 and up). The customer refuse to accept the work as additional work. I took pictures and brought them to her to explain. She did not accept the explanation, and became a little upset. We regret that we went ahead with the project even though my recommendations were ignore. We then had trouble getting access into the property which was vacant when we did the work, and the customer did not answer my calls to address the issue. She just decide to give us a bad review, and that was unfortunate, but it happened; and for that I am very sorry. We stand behind our work, and have done so for 35 years right here in Atlanta. We look forward to providing our customers with great craftsmanship, and great customer service, and continue to do what we love most; renovations, and construction."

These ratings reflect the average for 2 consecutive projects I hired Punch to complete. The first was the repair of a badly leaning wooden privacy fence. Raul was meticulous in oversight of the project and I would rate them 5 stars on the aforementioned questions for the fence repair. The next project was rebuilding the front entrance deck which I would give 1-2 stars on each question. I was trying to achieve a very specific look for which I think Raul underbid and underestimated the job. Between weather, materials, and contractor issues, the project stalled with materials in my yard for a couple of weeks. When we tried to resume, Raul decided he wasn't making any money and left. I contacted another vendor who took over the next day and completed it the following day, which indicated the job was larger than Raul had estimated. He is thorough and dedicated, and I do recommend him for repair and general millwork, but not for customized design.
Response from Punch Renovation and Construction, LLC
"Makes no sense that another person came and finish the project in 1 day, Makes no sense that I under bid the project. Now she says that I underbid; however this customer was given a good rate for being a neighbor of mine, and she treated us very poorly. The customer signed a contract that clearly stipulated that changes will be treated as additional work, and an additional work form will have to be signed if there were changes. The customer forgot her contractual obligation to us, and made numerous changes with no remuneration for them. The job was very easy for us to do, and we kept going back, I was forced to pay my helpers for additional work, that was not paid to me. This was an unfortunate situation, and we regret the outcome; however she did not loose any money, we did. Lesson learned, and truthfully, I need to improve my skills interviewing customers to see if we can be a match."

A variation of the quality triangle is often used to describe the typical constraints of any project. As it goes, each corner of the triangle is represented by the attributes fast, good and cheap. You can usually achieve two of these but it will be at the expense of the other. Punch Renovation proves that there are exceptions to every rule. We hired Raul to complete a partial reconstruction of our dining room after it suffered water and mold damage. Once we agreed on the terms and price, Raul remained absolutely true to them. He arrived on time every day and did exactly what he had presented to us beforehand. My wife and I both often work from home and were worried that the construction would be disruptive. Raul minimized this for us and we hardly even knew he was there after the first couple of days. He also kept us informed throughout the project and made sure we were satisfied with the outcome. Our dining room now looks better than it did the day we purchased our home over 10 years ago. Having had bad experiences in the past, we sought multiple estimates and could have found a marginally cheaper price but when you factor in the quality and professionalism Punch Renovation brings, there was simply no comparison. Our work took place over the Christmas Holiday and Raul not only showed up Christmas morning, he even brought us a gift! We couldn't be happier about our choice and Raul will be the first person I call for any future work.

We hired Raul to renovate our screened-in porch. He is very meticulous and contentious in his craft. He also provided excellent suggestions and communicated with us throughout the project. His costs were competitive, actually better than most. We are extremely satisfied with the results and will be utilizing him again for future projects.
