Putter's Deck & Fence Restoration

Hired Michael in 2021 to replace stairs and strip and restain my deck. He replaced the stairs himself just fine, but had a young assistant stain the deck. After a few months I noticed the stain on the deck was wearing off fast, and the stain on the new stairs was basically gone by the next season. I called him about it, and he admitted his helper had only applied one coat of stain instead of the required two coats, and none of the deck jobs he had done that summer had lasted. Micheal said he'd be out soon to re-do it. I waited and waited, got several re-promises of him showing up, but he blew me off the balance of 2022. I told him then I need to be first on his list in 2023, but again after more promises of coming over and correcting my deck, he has blown me off completely in 2023 again. I am now contemplating small claims court and will never hire Putters Deck and Fence again. He is full of excuses and often says he's coming over and just doesn't show up, with no call or text.

I had a terrible experience with Michael and Putters Restoration. When I originally agreed to have Michael take on the job he indicated that the work would start in the middle of May and that it would take 2 weeks. He started the work July 6th, 7 weeks late with no proactive communication and continued commitments of â you are up next...next week when I reached out. After 7 weeks and numerous no-shows and limited or no-communication, I terminated my agreement with Michael. The job was less than half finished when I terminated the agreement and I asked for a suitable refund of my 50% deposit which he did not even acknowledge. In summary...14 weeks after the initially indicated start date and 7 weeks after the actual start date for a 2 week job, less than 50% was completed so I terminated our agreement.

Hired Michael back on Mar. 9 to stain/seal my new deck. He said he would start soon. Then, I heard nothing more. I finally started inquiring the end of May when he would start my deck and the only response i could get was will let you know 3 days before I am ready to start. He over promises and under delivers. Nothing but excuses. I would not recommend this company.

I like Michael. Very professional and congenial.

Meticulous workmanship, the finished product came out better than expected. Would definitely use him in the future for other projects.
