If I could give this company, and its owner, Keith Clark, negative stars I would give them a minus 10. In over 69 years of dealing with vendors I have never encountered a more horrendous company or dishonest person. I met with Keith at my property in late March for him to give me an estimate on pruning a row of Hemlocks, a row of White Pines, and a beautifully shaped Japanese Maple, which was the show piece of the front yard. He assured me that the ruts made by the bucket truck would be repaired by his crew and that they would leave everything cleaned up. Neither of those things happened despite repeated calls to his business. He had also said that he wanted to be paid in cash without giving me a legitimate reason for wanting that. I did not pay him in cash. His crew showed up in early April and butchered all three areas leaving many dead branches in the trees, cut marks were very jagged indicating that they tried to use a tool that was too small or not sharp enough or both, they left cross branches, cut branches part way out from the trunk of the trees in the middle of nowhere, and some cuts were too close to the bark of the tree leaving unsightly scars. There were cut branches caught up in the remaining tree limbs just left hanging there. On the white pines these branches turned a bright rusty/orange color that looked hideous against the remaining green limbs. In all three areas the branches left hanging were too high up for my husband or me to pull down. They hacked at the Japanese Maple leaving it crooked, misshapen, with hanging dead branches absolutely destroying the symmetry and grace of this once magnificent tree. I do not know if it will ever resume its once lovely shape. The crew did no clean-up whatsoever! There were branches (from small to exceptionally large), small logs, needles, leaves all over the ground under and surrounding the areas they worked in. It took my husband and I three days to clean up the mess and we are not done yet. My husband had given the crew a check because I was not feeling well by the end of the job. He did not look over their work; I would have withheld payment until they rectified the situation. I called Pyramid and Keith was supposed to meet me at my house. I never saw him that day. When I called his office after the appointed time, his wife said that he had been here, and no one was home. After a few questions it became clear that he did not get out of his truck and, therefore, did not ring our doorbell. She alleged that he called and that there was no answer, there was no record of this call on our phones. And our two large dogs never made a peep when he said that he was here they usually bark to bring the house down if someone parks or walks across the street from us. So, I really do not see how he could have been here. After several calls I got him to come over and ring the bell. As I showed him the mess, he said, I can see what you are talking about. And, promised to send people over to try to correct things. No one ever came. The next time I called and got through, his daughter said that his mother had died and that it would be awhile before someone came over because he wanted to be here when the crew returned. I expressed my sincere condolences and waited over three weeks before trying to contact the company again.I left voice mails, texts, and e-mails; nothing was responded to and it has now been over three months of trying to get this fixed. I had a Certified Arborist and a real tree expert here to look over the situation. They both said it was bad. Independently of each other, each of these men said that they thought that Pyramid had topped two Norwegian Spruces on my front lawn. They said that it had to have been done recently. This is the only tree work that I have had done in over three years. They did not have my permission to touch these giant trees. I will now hire real tree expert!
