"I can only apologize for the fact we cannot service you any longer. Because half of our customers are retired and elderly it is pretty much required of us to have to go into homes and help our customers turn the water on and set controllers. Sometimes we are required by customers to make arrangements with them to allow us entry when they are not home. My two technicians have worked for me for over 25 years. They service 1500 customers a year, they are extremely trustworthy, work very hard, and make a pretty decent wage. In the last 20 years, there have been only two occasions when a customer had called and said an item was missing. The first was someone who lost a piece of jewelry. This person was humble enough a person that he called us a week later when he found the item in question. It was simply misplaced. The second person was you. I cannot tell you what happened to your bottle of round-up but I can tell you my technician would not take it. We have plenty of our own weed killer laying around to use! And no one in my office was nasty with you, I simply offered to take the price of the Roundup off your bill to resolve the issue. As far as the sprinkler heads go, you had old Maxi Paw style heads in the ground. This type of head is a nice head that sprays a pretty shower but has maintenance issues and eventually clog up and fail which is what was happening in your case. We recommended you replace them with a gear-driven head because they require no maintenance. Admittedly this type of head does spray differently but it still gets the job done. The beauty of this head is the fact that it holds its adjustment year after year and is a completely sealed unit so no dirt or debris gets into it to clog it up. I believe your issue was you did not like the way the spray looked. We cannot fix that because it is not broken. There was one head that was not spraying after our first visit. We came out a second time to check this issue (Even though your payment check bounced). What the second technician found was that the first technician turned off this particular head because it was a misty that was installed behind the air conditioner. This particular head was only watering the AC unit so we turned it off so as not to rust out the air conditioner. We explained during our conversation that my technicians will no longer feel comfortable working at your home being that you are accusing us of stealing. So when you called for a winterization we again declined. No one wants to work for someone accusing them of stealing! But let us be honest, you just didn't like the $271.00 bill. You sent the first check for only half the price of the bill! It bounced! You sent a second check and it also bounced. Did you know we have to pay a fee for bounced checks? I have to add one thing, I am darn lucky to have the two service technicians that work for me. I know them well and when something like this happens I will stand behind them!"
