On September 20, 2018 I contracted with Quality Air of America to replace 2 air conditioning units in my home. They arrived on September 21 in the afternoon to do the installation. That evening I had a massive flood in one room, with water pouring from the ceiling. The units are in the attic. I contacted Quality Air immediately and was told someone would be calling me. In the meantime I went into the attic and saw the drain pan was over flowing with water and the unit had shorted out. I continued to call the company and my calls were sent directly to voicemail. I then sent them a message via their Facebook page and received a phone call letting me know they would be there the next day to fix it and I should find an electrician to determine why the unit shorted out. The electrician determined that the circuit breaker was fine and found the following issues with the installation of one of the air conditioning units: 1 - The ground wire was never terminated and was left hanging free. The vibration from the unit caused it to dead short. I do have a photo of the burned out ground wire. 2 - The high voltage wires was not threaded through the proper hole in the housing unit but pinched between the cover panel and frame. 3 - There were proper holes in the housing of the unit for the high voltage and control wires that were not used and wires were pinched between the cover panel door and frame. 4 - The cover panel was only screwed closed in 2 places to accommodate the high voltage and control wires. 5 - The drain pan was never plugged with drain pipes causing the water to overflow and damaging my insulation and ceiling. 6 - While I paid for a new float switch as per my contract they reinstalled the old one and the new one was still in the package on the floor of the attic. 7 - The second unit was installed in the attic above the garage. The high voltage wires were properly threaded in the pre-cut hole, however the control wires were pinched between the panel cover and frame. 8 - The drain port in the attic unit was also not properly plumbed to the condensate drain pan. I do have detailed photos of all these issues. My electrician did immediately correct the high voltage wire problem as that was a major fire hazard. Quality Air did come back late afternoon on September 24. I had 3 days of no air conditioning in the extreme Florida heat. I was informed by the technician who installed the unit that he was told they were not supposed to do the electrical work which is why they never threaded the wires in the safe and correct way. I showed him the flood damage and he said he would let the company know. The next morning I went into the attic and saw the pan was ready to over flow again. I shut the unit off and contacted the company again. On September 26 the two installers arrived again and claim the vibration pad must have fallen off when they brought it up into the attic and now it is properly installed so the water build up should not be

Tech telephoned at end of the time slot and said he would be here in 40 minutes. Very cursory and superficial service. Tech seemed only to be interested in up selling. Did not go to the compressor, stated didn't need to, I had to repeatedly ask him to check compressor with gauges. Dryer vent cleaning was turning on dryer and just looking if outside vent had condensation coming out of it. Did not siphon a/c drain, used a small canister to blow some air in (approximately 5-10 seconds). Air duct cleaning was attaching their vac machine to one air vent. Never even went into attic. I called the company and they said the service he did was what they do. After my review, General Manager called me. Advised that he was sorry that I was unhappy and would refund my payment, asked if there was anything he could do and asked me to amend my review.

They cleaned all ducts and vents, replaced filters and ordered a washable filter for future replacement. Price was what was quoted and they did little extra things, like washing all metal grates and cleaning dark spots on the ceiling. Very pleased with service and they were great people to deal with!

You did a great job installing the AC on my new office. Didnt thought that it would be that great. The setup and the location was too perfect, I expected it to be installed on a different location but you made the right suggestion. Thanks.

He said the starting capacitor was bad. He replaced it and $510.00 later the A/C worked. Question: If the compressor wasn't running as he said, then how come the high side in the unit was hot before he fixed it???
