Toxicity and Mold Removal
I put in my project information through the Angi website looking for someone licensed in mold removal. In a short amount of time, I received messages from several mold remediation companies. Quality Cleaning and Restoration, LLC contacted me on April 11 2025 per text messaging. I hired him to do the mold inspection on April 10 when his electronic device sensed mold spores that day. He told me that to begin, he needed $5000 up front. So I wrote him a check. The mold was actually really extensive in the basement apartment. There are many pictures that show this. By April 25, I was told per text that everything had been remediated which meant that all the walls, doors, molding and ceilings had been taken down and there was white spray paint (fungicide?) on the walls. I was told there was a leak from the upstairs HVAC unit that needed to be replaced. So I paid a friend of his to replace the unit. June 6, Mark informed me that he needed $20,000 to be paid for the rest of the remediation to be done. Since I didn't have the money and my insurance hadn't finished with the claim, he stopped working. I spoke with Mark on June 30, 2025. He informed me that I had to pay him $40,000 for the mold remediation and to do reconstruction. He said the mold remediation costs $25,000 and I had only paid $5000. So I owed him $20,000 plus another $20,000 which would still only pay for new drywall and mud and tape-no painting to be done. I took a loan against my retirement savings so I could write a check for $35,000. He seemed agitated that he couldn't get the full amount but I told him when the job was done that he would get the rest. To this day, September 9,2025, I have had to hire a plumber to fix a drain that they didn't cap and a mold retest that confirms mold still there. I had to clean up their drywall construction debris and found they had broken a window and I had to cap off an outside area where they left an exhaust pipe sticking out of the wall. Since they did not actually get rid of the mold, it is now regrowing and visually seen now in the bathroom. This is completely unacceptable as I have paid him upfront to complete a job that is now worse than when he started. I have tried to contact him. He texted back asking if I wanted him to finish the job which of course I said yes. He told me he would be there next week which of course he has been a no-show again for many weeks.

Very professional and friendly. Came to my home to dry out my basement on the same day I called them. They were a pleasure to work with. I thought they were a bit expensive but I highly recommend them.
