Swamp Cooler Service or Repair
I have been VERY unhappy with this company. They replaced a swamp cooler for me--the motor went out immediately and a plug came undone and the whole thing leaked onto the ceiling in my spare bedroom. The ceiling caved in!! They paid $50 or $75 to fix the hole but I ended up paying approximately $250 to get the ceiling sanded, textured, and painted. At this point, I still don�t know if I have a swamp cooler that works properly. They are very unresponsive, inadequate, and unprofessional! Do NOT use this company. FYI--I realize I gave this company a single star but I would have given them none if that was an option.

The bid was reasonable and the work was completed quickly. The follow-up is a problem. I have not received a receipt for the job despite several calls to the company. Am very disappointed.

He was prompt and returned my calls before the service. He did it in a timely manner and was very reasonable. I really love having the new A/C. One thing that I kind of question is that the A/C unit he put in might be to small, because it does run a fair amount. Also after I had it installed he said he forgot a wire for it. I have tried to contact him but now he won't return my calls. Hopefully he will get in touch with me. I don't think the furnace will work if that wire isn't put in.

Offered a discount on an "open-box" unit. Appreciate the savings. Swamp cooler is working well thru the hot days of summer. Several problems occurred with the install that were attended to promptly. Cooling duct fell off in first 24 hours, but was reattached promptly. Then, the unit wasn't cooling properly, apparently due to improper factory wiring. Contractor responded promptly and stayed on the problem until resolved. Finally, contractor is still supposed to replace a wiring harness, but meanwhile, the unit has worked well thru the summer.

Not a very good experience at all. They installed the wrong swamp cooler and only discovered after I pointed out. The quality of installation was poor. Asked them to stop and remove all equipment. Ended up hiring another contractor who did a very high quality job.

"Installed cooler, pick slip from supplier to office that evening, noticed that we had picked up wrong unit.Warehouse had (2) R and L's picking up equip that day.They loaded ours and we loaded theirs.Next morning after speaking to warehouse, we called cust.He had discoveed the same.We tried to explain the mix-up.Cust said he wanted us out ASAP to remove all equip and ducting and wanted a FULL refund.We went out removed all equip, with the pick slip to show cust what had happened(he would not even lookat it) .Gave cust FULL refund.Cust is satisfid at this time."

.We are still not totally satisfied with the work. Price was right, but there are issues. The unit is badly scratched/ marred, contractor never told us this. Promises not kept. Took over a month to get the permit & inspection.Should have gotten structural permit due to larger unit. He didn't Now he won't come back to fix the electrical issue. Unpaid sub contractor harrassing us. Never gave us promised warranty papers. We regret contracting this company. If you have already started DO NOT PAY BY CHECK. Use Credit in case of a dispute. UPDATE: Nov 23- Finally completed - all issued resolved. with SM's help.

Rich and Regina are very wonderful people but it seems that either I hit them at a bad time of year for them or that they are poorly organized. From what I can tell, the work was performed very well but communicating with them is a bit of a nightmare. When my furnace was installed I was informed about various rebates and when I started filling out the rebate forms, I discovered I needed additional information (model number, serial number, etc) which was not supplied on the invoice. I had to call several times to actually get the invoice as it was mot given to me at the time the furnace was installed and paid for.

Rich went the extra mile to help me. There was some confusion with other vendors over county submittals. Rich did alot of leg work to get the project back on track.

The work performed was decent, but their communication was absolutely terrible. We could never get in touch with them, and when we finally did, they would promise to do something about the issue, but that would be the end of it. The issue still has not been resolved a few months later. They are also not punctual at all, and fail to call when they are running late, or are not going to be able to show up that day. We were very disappointed.

He came out on the weekend and fixed the furnace problem but he said he would come back on Monday to service the furnance and never showed up or called. Not so good follow up but I was glad he came out on the weekend. we have heat now

"Cust bought furnace on-line, tried to install himself.Shorted out control board,called us to fix.R and L was unable to get parts under warranty locally.Cust not willing to pay for replacement parts.Cust requested us(R and L) to pull "bad" parts,so that he could mail them in for warranty parts on-line.When new parts received, cust called us to re-install.We were not able to set appt as promptly as cust wanted,explained may have to call another company, if our scheduling didn't work for him. R and L Heating did not leave family in cold, we did not install this furnace."

After talking to a few other companies, Rich was the only one that said he needed to come out and see our situation to give us an accurate estimate.This made complete sense to me since we own an older home and there always seems to be something extra-this time it was that they build our house after installing the furnace and we had to have a new whole cut to the crawl space to put in the new furnace. Rich was very professional and took his time to go over everything.He worked with us and was willing to find alternative solutions with any of our concerns.He also didn't just try to sell us the most expensive product unlike the other companies.

They didn't come on the day we scheduled, then they were an hour and a half late the next day. I asked for a specific service and documentation to support what was done and they didn't even give me an invoice until 3 days after the service. The invoice had none of what I needed on it and he never was able to give me the paperwork he told me he would get me. I had to hire another company and pay double what I should have since he couldn't get me what I asked for when I originally hired him.

The project was handled professionally. there were a couple of changes required due to Code requirements and additional resources were provided by R&L. His primary electrical contractor was not available but he had excellent back up contractors who also were professional and completed the job in a timely manner.
