"Customer called me for an estimate to hang new doors and install tile @ his bathroom walls and corridor floor. Upon meeting Mr Nolan, I informed him that I was extremely busy with a large renovation on Clearwater Beach, and that scheduling would be tight. Upon Mr Nolan accepting my estimate, I again informed him that scheduling would be tight, and he said he was fine with that. the tile floor was an obstacle as it lay in between the bedroom and the front entrance and the kitchen, dining and living rooms at the rear. Small sections had to be laid at a time to give Mr Nolan and family access to both front and rear of the residence. I upgraded the thin set/adhesive which had a longer bond time than the cheaper thin set/adhesive. Durring this process I noticed several tile seemed loose. The residents walked on the tiles to soon and broke the bond. I removed and reset the tiles, NO CHARGE. I installed this floor with lasers for straight and square alignment, and for elevation along w/ straight edge, typical of how I install tile. I also performed work that wasn't in the contract such as, Removing existing vanity, top and faucet, Skim coat top half of walls (lower were tile), Painted top half of walls, Installed new vanity and top, Installed new mirror over vanity, Installed 2 new towel bars, Covered the cost of the upgraded tile. I did all the above extra work at no charge, as I felt it was best to give him a completed bathroom. At the end Mr Nolan said he was happy with the job. If he had voiced his displeasure I would have worked out a solution to keep him satisfied"
"In this business scheduling is always a factor. This customer lived out of state and commuted to FLA as needed. I was always available to the customer who contacted me 7 days a week day and night, by phone or text. I absolutely accommodated him with an open line of communication. As far as falling behind schedule, the customers electricians held me up 2-3 weeks, as they encountered extra work and demo. That's when scheduling became somewhat of an issue. I had other jobs ongoing. The drywall phase was originally 120 boards, ended up being 130 boards. To expedite the job I sub contracted the drywall phase which is common practice. As far as cleanup, I cleaned my job related mess. As the site was still under construction. The cleaning is done at the total end of the job, usually by a professional cleaning crew. This customer upon completion said he was happy with the final product."
