From start to finish they kept us informed during the different stages of the project. This allowed us to focus our budget more closely. We are very happy with their work and our new kitchen.

Do not hire him.

After he finished the basement, he installed a Bilco door as an emergency exit. His employee did not know how to properly install this door so as a result the door leaked and water seeped into the basement and under the new vinyl floor. He was unable to correct the problem so we had to call the Bilco company and they sent someone out to fix it. The dirt that was excavated for the door still hasn t been removed from the yard. This was all supposed to have been done in April but he never came out until the middle of May and only after numerous phone calls. He finally began grading the yard in June but never completed the job. He was supposed to come back the next day to finish the grading and remove the large pile of dirt. He asked us to pay him the balance that was due and we did. We trusted him to come back. It is now July 17 and he hasn t been back. He has done nothing but give us one excuse after another as to why he can t come out. Obviously he took our money and ran. Rick is not a man of his word but rather a con artist. The basement work was mediocre at best. I believe he was in a hurry to get the job done so a few small things were not done correctly. We never received the new basement windows we were supposed to get. The basement was completed in Dec. 2018. The completion of the basement door had to be put off until spring because of cold weather. That s when he said he would be back in April, 2019, so you can see how long this has been going on. I would never recommend this contractor to anyone. He is not to be trusted. His employees were great however he is not an honest person.

Rick and his team at RMS went above and beyond my expectations both in terms of quality of work and thoroughness. Their ability to have multiple trades on site in any given day dramatically reduced the overall length of our project. In the end they went out of their way to make sure every aspect of our basement (plumbing to electrical to finishes) was beyond expectations and created a safe, enjoyable space that our kids love to play in. I would highly recommend the team at RMS for your basement remodel!

I requested an estimate from RMS contractors but have yet to receive one. the contractor insists on digging out the pipe before he can give me a price. I do not operate like that. therefore I did not use him for the sewer line replacement. RMS contractor, Rick stated that he could not get to my kitchen remodel project any time soon because he had another large project coming up. He did say he was able to replace my garage roof though. So I hired them to replace the flat roof over my garage. They did not replace but merely patched a section of the roof and covered the 2 layers that previously existed with another layer of new roofing material. This was done 1/30/17 and completed 2/3/17. My garage roof is leaking and it is less than a 2 months (3/14/17). I called the company and left a message on the answering machine. I await a return call. My contract states that the labor is guaranteed and the materials are guaranteed from the manufacturer. I explained to Rick that I needed the entire existing roofing ripped off and replaced with new roofing because I had already had 2 roofers repair and add layers of roofing in the past. He said he would do that but the company only patched on area and then covered the entire roof with another layer of roofing. It was lumpy. When my husband inquired out of concern that the roof was lumpy and asked if the whole roof was replace Rick, the contractor stated that he did not replace the entire roof and that he guarantees that I will NOT have any leaks because his roofer is good and the way he is doing the roof their will not be any leaks. I am so furious and feel that this company RMS contracting took advantage of us.

Due to broken pipes in the bathroom over my dining room, water filled the ceiling and was leaking through the chandelier. Extensive plumbing and replacement of the pipes, removal of the wet sheetrock and replacement of the ceiling, as well as spackling, sanding, painting, etc..had to be done. RMS Contracting was called for the job, and I found all the workers, from the plumber to the sheetrockers and painters to be neat, polite and considerate of my home and furnishings. The owner, Rick Balas, was honest and trustworthy...very fair and willing to negotiate price and payment options. All in all, it wasn't the nightmare I envisioned and I can highly recommend this company.

All the crew was very nice and friendly and knowledgeable and good workers. Ric was exceptionalso and very helpful and kind.

My kitchen looks gorgeous! I had interviewed several contractors in the area before deciding on RMS. We had them knock out the family room wall so that we could have an extended breakfast nook. They also installed an island with a range on it. I am so excited to start entertaining for the holidays. The total cost of the renovation was $14,500 which didn't break the bank too much. :) And it only took them 4 days from start to finish. Once again, I am happy with the job and would recommend them to my friends.

Job was not properly finished. Job was not worth the money we paid. Two workers were good, but "boss" in too much of a rush to finish and get his money.
