If you value your home, do not let these people anywhere near it. High-pressure sales tactics combined with shoddy workmanship are a bad combination. We had a complete roof replacement, 3 windows replaced, and new gutters and downspouts, and one year later, only the gutters have held up. We also paid for additional roof decking to be replaced where damage was found when the old shingles were removed. None of the decks were really replaced; the new shingles were just put over the old decks. One year later, the roof is buckled in spots. The flashing around the chimney was also done incorrectly, with just a piece of metal wrapped around it and caulk squirting around the edges. They also replaced some siding around the roof edges and then tried to paint them before a rainstorm that promptly washed all the paint off. The roofers also left debris everywhere and nails in the driveway that we are still finding a year later. The replacement windows were the same story. The installer left broken trim around the windows, the inside trim was not secured correctly, and one lock was left broken that we did not notice until we attempted to open the windows. When we called them to find out the window manufacturer so we could replace the lock, no one called us back. We attempted to inspect all the work after completion, but physical handicaps prevented it until we started having issues and noticed the problems. When I spoke to Johnathan, he came out and looked at the work and said it looked OK to him, but he seemed more interested in getting paid than taking care of any problems. Totally unprofessional from the beginning to the end of the job.

Professional work, hq would recommend

On Sunday, my wife and I were participating in a Zoom Church meeting when we heard water dripping. A large oak behind our house had dropped a limb and perforated our roof. I immediately went on line to Home Advisor to locate a reputable roofing business. Within minutes RVA Building Pros called and scheduled a free estimate the following day. Over the next couple of days I contacted other roofers for competing estimates. RVA was the best offer and began moving supplies and equipment that Thursday. They began work on Friday and completed the house on Saturday. RVA did an outstanding job using the latest in roofing technologies and techniques. I was extremely impressed with the quality and professionalism of their work force. We clearly made the right choice by choosing RVA Building Pros.

Contractors scheduled the work immediately which was impeccable. They will be doing all of my home repairs.

Worst experience of my life. High pressured salesperson. Unfortunately, we were in a hurry and did not shop around. Very overpriced. Found out we were charged for 34 square of shingles for a 1600 sq foot roof. They used 20 square and refused to compensate for leftover. The job was half done. They said it was complete. Showed up at my work demanding full payment. I went to the house the next day to inspect. A person that claimed to be a vice president of the company showed up yelling for his money and threatened to sue me and put a lien on the house if I did not pay him now. They kept coming at me and yelling. My wife had to get in front of me before he hit me. Come to find out he was the owners brother and the salesman was the owners son. The worker did put a roof vent on the house. Only problem was. They did not cut the plywood. So the roof still was not vented. They wanted me pay full amount before he would allow his roofer back on my roof to fix something that should have been done in the first place. Im not a roofer. So they try and get things by. Dont make my mistake and trust them. Don't believe in sales that end the next day. And don't let the brother on your property. Had to call the police to get him to leave mine.

They did a great job on the roof, staying at the estimate, and doing additional work using more materials. Important to note: they replaced rotten plyboard and fixed some gutter issues without extra charge, leading to better drainage. We had a small hitch in terms of unexpected and ill-timed rain which added to some minor leaks in my ceiling (which was the original reason for the roof replacement). They took care of it so now I have a new roof and a freshly painted kitchen ceiling. The customer service was excellent and responsive, and the owner made sure we were satisfied on all counts.

I hired RVA Building Pros to replace the roof, replace the gutters, and replace and install a new storm door. Initially this project was to take one to two days, it ended up taking 3 days. On the 3rd day, the roofer worked all the way to 9 pm, which I did not expect them to be working in to that late. I have some pictures of the work done that I was not satisfied with. Even though I thought I was dealing with a professional company, when I contacted the owner and the main office in Richmond, they just kept giving me the run around as to when they would come to fix things and issues that were still undone. After countless emails and basically harassing them, they came back and fixed some of the issues. One of the issues was the gutter leaf guards because of the way they were left when the contractor came to install it. The guards on one side of the house was not even installed and the gutter guy left and did not say anything, so, I complained about it and the roofer ended up installing it. The second time the gutter guy came back to fix the other leaf guards and after he left, I noticed that one of the leaf guards was not fixed, so I did it myself. I have noticed since the installation and on the days that have rained after it, that there is water leaking from between the siding and the gutter. On the roof (which I have included in one of my pictures) there is cable exposed which was not like that before. I told the owner about it, and he told me to not worry, they would take care of it, and nothing was done about it. After the job was done, there was a lot of nails left on my deck and roof debris that was not cleaned up properly. I had to clean it and remove the nails that were lodged in between the deck boards. Personally, I would not recommend this company, RVA Building Pros, to no homeowners because of the lack of communication and the work they sub-contract out to other people. At one point, there was only one person working on the roof, which made the whole project longer. Just make sure if you consider hiring this company for any home projects, make sure to pay half up front and the other half at the end of the job, because I paid them in full ahead and then I had to deal with all the issues afterwards. As a customer, it should not have to take about a week after calling and emailing the main office and owner to get an invoice/receipt for services that I paid for. As a homeowner, if you are going to hire a company to do home improvements, it would be better to go with a local company, not one based out of Richmond, which makes it more difficult because they donâ t come in on time because they are traveling from so far out. The three days they came to the job, they came between 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., which was a later start time than we expected.

After choosing the siding and colors we found out it was unavailable due to a 2-year-old sample. Then we chose another color and it became a comedy of errors with colors. Work was finally completed 8 days after the start date. RVA had to finish up behind their subcontractor. Overall the job was done correctly and to my satisfaction. Of course I'm a stickler for excellent work.

They were amazing, polite, considerate and the price was great. The workmen were a joy to be around and they did an awesome job of cleaning up. Would recommend them to everyone.

Would 100% recommend. Put a request in for service and was promptly called the next morning. I had a big pile of Crepe Myrtle trimmings that they came in and removed in about an hour. Guys were very professional. If you have ever cut those things back, you know they drop trimmings everywhere. They hauled it all away, raked, swept and blew away all the leftovers from the removal. They went the extra mile and even blew the deck off where the trimmings dropped from cutting the day before. Would definitely use them again.
