This project didn't end up the way I had envisioned, but I'm treating it as a learning experience as a first-time homeowner.
My goal was to have my pedestrian gate fit flush with the fence and accommodate a standard outdoor doorknob and lock. The locksmith successfully installed the lock, but the overall finished project didn't meet my expectations. As you can see in the photos, the result feels more like a series of modifications than a purpose-built gate.
Looking back, I think this would have been better handled by a fence contractor first, with the locksmith installing the hardware afterward. I also wish there had been a more upfront conversation about what was realistically achievable.
I would hire this locksmith again for lock installation, but not for gate modifications. Hopefully this helps other homeowners choose the right pro for each part of a project.

Raanan is not only a great locksmith but a great human being wanting to do the right thing and truly helps people. I unfortunately had some problems with the locks I bought, and he was so helpful in reviewing the locks I was purchasing for each door. When I had an issue with one lock, he was very flexible with his schedule to come back and install a new lock. He changed out 4 locks in total for me in 2 different locations. On top of everything, he has a great personality, so be prepared for a good laugh.

I could not be happier with my experience this past Saturday with Raanan the Locksmith (and his wife Hanna). My husband and I had just arrived at our hotel, and somehow managed to lock our car keys inside the car while unloading it in the hotel garage. We were preparing for a long evening searching for a locksmith that could commit to helping us the same day. I received several texts and phone calls in reference to our need to hire a locksmith but chose to hire Raanan after my initial conversation with his wife. She seemed genuinely interested in helping us with our dilemma. My phone calls and texts re-confirming that they were actually coming to unlock the car, were answered promptly and we were kept informed about their arrival time. Raanan and his wife were professional and very pleasant to work with. Our car was unlocked quickly, and we still had time to keep our dinner reservation. We highly recommend Raanan the Locksmith for anyone needing help unlocking their car!

Raanen was there within 45 minutes on Easter Sunday. He did a terrific job replacing our faulty front door lock and stayed to adjust for all our keys to make sure everything worked. Very happy with his work and would call him again .
