How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because Radiant Cleaning is a cleaning service created by a former corporate executive mother with busy parents and commuters in mind. After graduating from Cornell University owner Alexa Garcia had a robust corporate career working as a Buyer & Merchandiser for several Fortune 500 companies. But she left corporate after the birth of her special needs son, Alex. Alexa has been a Stay-At-Home-Mom (SAHM) for the last few years and understands just how much there is to do and that the work never seems to end! She had never before considered owning her own cleaning business, but she enjoys managing and organizing her home and loves helping others clean, manage and organize theirs so much that Radiant Cleaning was created simply by pure demand. Thanks to our clients support and her passion for the work, it has quickly grown and developed its own brand and reputation throughout the Jersey Shore. We would love to extend that same great cleaning experience to you!.

I have worked with cleaning companies in the past and by far, Alexa and her company Radiant Cleaning is the best! Alexa is responsive, efficient, and really listens and understands what you expect. I am meticulous and sometimes hard to please :), Radiant Cleaning did a superb job! I would highly recommend Radiant Cleaning to anyone looking for any level of "cleaning" whether it be weekly, a deep cleaning, assistance in organizing (Alexa is the organizing queen!), etc.

I have a very complicated homelife with 9 children, 2 who are severely autistic. They require my undivided attention. My house was truly tossed upside down.. Alexa came in with her team and rid us of the chaos of clutter and cleaned our house too to bottom. Her Organizer helped me purge through my excess stuff and truly reorganize what i wanted to keep. This made it actually so much easier to keep clean because everything had a home! Alexa attends to her work as if it is a vocation to make peoples life easier and bring peace . What a blessing.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
