About us

Radon Remedy has been designing & installing EPA-certified radon reduction systems in residential homes since 1994. Karla Newman has been the sole owner of the business since 2004 and is herself a licensed radon mitigation professional. We have 5 licensed technicians working in 4 areas: Northern Chicago area including Lake County & McHenry County - greater South Bend, IN - and South-Eastern Wisconsin, including Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha & Lake Geneva, WI. Karla is one of the few women in the radon mitigation field and runs the company with the highest professionalism & attention to detail. Other companies have come & gone but Radon Remedy has longevity & will be here in the future when you have questions or need service on an existing system. We give the same attention to your house as we would to our own. Prompt, courteous, explained exactly what he was going to do and showed us the end result and how it works. I like that they use matching color gutter material so the outside solution blends with the house. Also included a kit to re-test.

Only reason I gave a 4.5 instead of a full 5 stars is because when they installed a new sump they added a check valve so the water doesn't fall back but its pretty loud for some reason. The guy couldn't figure out why either but its not his fault its just one of those things I guess. As far as value for the money the sump pump I purchased from them was marked up quite a bit from what one could purchase at the store but I guess they have to make their money on the sell. Overall quality and service was great.

After talking to Karla, I felt confident that the job would be done with expertise, and it was. All my questions were answered to the fullest. Also the installer again explained beforehand everything he was going to do and after installation showed me in detail what he had done and answered my questions. I am completely satisfied and would highly recommend Radon Remedy.

Karla the owner was VERY helpful and willing to answer any questions. They were organized and able to schedule conveniently. Jeff our installer did a great job and kept all areas clean and tidy. He explained everything that we needed and even came back to install a different color downspout to match our others. They were able to use matching color gutter material as the vent pipe unlike our next door neighbors which is UGLY PVC pipe right in the middle of the house.

From start to finish Radon Remedy was highly professional. They were the first to contact me. Their website was helpful, the quote was clear and concise and pricing was competitive. The back office staff was helpful and very efficient. The field staff was top notch as well. Arriving on time, call prior to arriving, fast, professional, friendly and clean.
