Chuck called me immediately, scheduled a time to meet with me, came when he said he would. Quickly diagnosed the problem and repaired my roof.

Charles (Chuck) Mayo is a very professional, competent, and thorough roofing contractor. He has a wealth of knowledge and does things by the book. His prices are reasonable and the quality of his work is exceptional.

Punctual and stuck to the budget. Did a great job and quickly.

Friendly and fast - work was completed on time at fair value.

We were at our wits end with a contractor who put on a new roof for .$15,000.00 for a townhouse 2 1/2 years ago that still leaked at the same place it did before they started roofing. They then came back to fix and every single time they asked for $2,000-3,000 for their guesses which didn’t work! Chuck responded right away and came and looked at it the same day, he gave us a very fair quote and he came the next week in one day and fixed it. He did not ask for a dime he came back after a week and after a rain we told him this was the first time in 5 years my roof didn’t leak. I would totally recommend Chuck.

Don't hire him. He is misleading on the actual work he performs.

Did a great job, courteous and very helpful but wanted to be paid cash.

He installed 3 sky lights. Work looks technically OK. He split the bid into two parts for me. The main part which I took him up on included installing the skylights, building the thru-attic structure,, opening the ceiling and adding sheet rock to the boxes;. The second option was taping and finishing which I declined as I can to that myself. MY PROBLEM. When I inspected the work I noticed NO INSULATION!!. He told me point blank that he didn't plan to do it and wanted his money. WTF! Now I have to find another contractor to finish the job. I (mistakenly, I guess) assumed that insulation was an obvious part of Skylight installation. He talked me out of getting a permit (big mistake) as I he even told me that the R factor of the insulation is something they check. I would have considered changing the price but he never even mentioned it. I feel ripped off.

There was no tab for roof "cleaning" which was what I had done Charles, I suspect, wrote some of his own reviews!! First off, he showed up and told me he had a $450 Min price, something he should have told me on the phone. I had a quote from a local handyman for $200, so he agreed to match that. Secondly, when I spoke to him on the phone, he said he was from Jim's Roofing and Gutters. Then showed up and handed me a business card with this company info. As his worker took less than one hour to complete, it wasn't a good value for the money. What made the experience bad, besides the blatant extortion price attempt, was the "owner" I assume Charles Mayo. While his worker scraped off moss from the storage shed roof and used a blower to clear off the tree debris, this man did nothing but ask invasive non ending personal questions which made me extremely uncomfortable. How big was my house, how old was it, when was it built, how many bedrooms, what are the bedroom sizes, how much did I pay for it, where did I work, ect ect. I told him he could look on John L Scott for the details and when the questions kept rolling, I just didn't answer. Nosy, invasive busy body who set off my "dirty old dude" alarm and I was very glad when they left. Lastly, his worker did a good job, but every request I made was answered with "I can do that but it will cost you more money" so I got no Zinc powder or strips on the roof , which I understand is to keep the moss from growing back. The worker offered to cut some tree limbs for me while he was on the shed roof, so I got out my chainsaw. Charles or Jim or whatever his name was, stopped him from doing so, telling me I had to pay more. I won't deal with him again.

Ratings based on work completed. But, the proof will be when the next hard rain comes. I defer final judgement until then. If the leak is fixed will up ratings to a five. If not, will have to start over.

Within couple days of contacting contractor the job was completed. Great job.

IF you hire this company to put a new roof on to your home make sure you have a completion date. This contractor took 6 month to complete the roof, and took advantage of a senior with alzheimer. I would never work with this person again.

Mr. Mayo (the owner) is on my roof right now working his butt off. The project is not complete, but as of this moment we are pleased we chose Rain Proof.
