Randys Wood & Laminate Flooring

Randy did a very poor quality job installing flooring in my father-in-law's condo. He did not keep appointments that he set and did not return phone calls. He layed flooring over cracked concrete sub-flooring, so now the floor in that area is like a trampoline. I definitely would not recommend.

He never showed up on schedule; set all of our contractors off schedule and the project off schedule. After he stained the floor; he left many splotches of stain through out the job. He immediately covered the job with paper and told us he would be back for the final coat. We were not aware that he had covered his messes. When he finally returned to finish, he blamed the spots on the floor on other contractors. However, the spots were where he had spilled stain and then sealed it off with the top coat finish. Thoughout the job he did not return our calls. Always came at times other than when we had appointments. A terrible experience.

DO NOT HIRE!!!!!!! He is a disaster, doesn't return calls, doesn't show up, and is full of false promises ...we are having to sue to recover part of our deposit. If you ignore all the complaints here and choose to hire him...DO NOT GIVE HIM MONEY UP FRONT. Oh yeah..we also found out after the fact that his license is suspended and he has no bond or insurance!

Randy had to reschedule several times. When the floors were finished he didn't come back to put back removed fixtures (i.e. Refrigerator, toilet, etc.). Stain was left at the bottom of every doorway, and kitchen and bathroom cabinetry. And, it took numerous phone calls and even a call to the BBB to get Randy to come out and pick up the piles of trash he left in the the driveway. I would not recommend Randy's services at all. However, the gentleman who actually stained the floor (Larry) was extremely nice and did a great job on the floors.

I gave Randy Facey a down payment for my hardwood floors in Feb. I have been unsuccessful in trying to contact him by phone and no return on email. I am begining to worry that maybe I have lost my money.

We set up the job to occur during a vacation. When we returned, two of the rooms weren't finished. We then agreed upon a weekend for him to come back and finish the floors. He failed to show up and never called to let us know. Then he said that he wanted more money to finish the job and to repair damage done to our walls during the process. Initially he had been courteous and professional, however all that went out the window when we expected him to honor the original contract that we signed. We have not been able to resolve this peacefully. We also found out that his license was suspended when he did our work. We've been screwed!

3 times I was told if pet stains would not come out, boards would be re-placed. I now have a finished product with lighter stains but noticeable. Base boards were sliced, gorged, and broken when removed. Floor beneath the refrigerator was layered in dust from sanding, baseboards were not re-installed and I found that the staining and finish had only been done to the refrigerator, not under it as stated in his bid. Although the overall appearance of the floor is greatly improved, the failure to address the stains, the associated damage to the baseboards, and the lack of finishing beneath the refrigertor greatly reduced our satisfaction.

Randy has completely stopped communicating. Despite my offer to waive reimbursement for damages and unfished work in exchange for information about floor stain color, Randy has failed to respond. Randy did fair work, was reasonable during the process, somewhat inattentive to details (like ensuring dust didn't permeate the house) and relatively timely. I would not hire him again. I've hired another contractor to fix items that Randy failed to perform or address.

Scheduled for monday showed up on tuesday. Missed app. square foot area at entry way and had to come back to fix twice, still looks bad. Some scratches in floor weren't sanded out. Does not appear to be three coats of Swedish, I'd bet their is only one. Slopped Swedish on some professionally finished floors. Provided transition pieces that weren't stained to match. Failed to provide additional transition piece promised. I wouldn't ever use them again or recommend them to anyone except enemies.

we have used him in the early part of last year and we gave him a high rating..no more as he is now a scam artist and a no show, his contractors lisence is suspened, and is posing as a lisenced contractor

I would recommend Randy's Wood floors without hesitation. Randy was quick to respond to our timeline and included the removal and disposal of carpet and floorboards in his bid. I will note that other than during the bidding process Randy did not come to the job site which isn't necessarily a bad thing as he has a great team working for him. There has been some cracking of the finish as it settles and a few spots where dust/debris from re-finishing are embedded in the finish but all in all the floors look a million times better than I even hoped they would.

Confusion over start date was resolve. Installation proceeded as discussed, completed without problem.

I can't rate any of the other areas since Randy never showed up to do any work. We got the flooring delivered and never heard from him again. There were a number of days he told us he would be here to start work, but he never showed, or returned calls. We have finally given up on him and are looking for another contractor.

VERY POOR COMMUNICATION... I WOULD NEVER RECOMMENED HIS SERVICE TO ANYBODY...

There were some initial communications difficulties here on both sides, but the work has been finished and is excellent. The flooring looks wonderful -- I'm very pleased with the color and the look in my new condo. Because of the cost of some elements being picked up by the contractor, I got much more for my money than I had expected. Delays I experienced turned out not to be in any way the contractor's fault. Parts were backordered, and when they arrived turned out to be the wrong color and had to be returned, and so we had to wait a second time for backordered parts. This was not under the contractor's control at all, and as soon as the missing parts arrived, they were immediately and very quickly installed. The contractor made extra effort to complete this job for me under difficult circumstances, and once our mutual communication issues were resolved, I was very pleased with the results. I plan to do replacement flooring for the kitchen and bathrooms at some point in the future, and would hire this contractor again for the quality of his work.

The contractor did a terrible job. He did not completie promised work and was a very poor craftsman (I spent several hours fixing his mistakes). If this is any indicataion of the type of cotractors you represent, I will not be using your service in the future.

Overall did a great job. Forgot to secure a couple of trim items with nails.

Found some small spots where the floor is missing a coat of finish ... areas are a little rough. The hall closet is rough. There are some areas where there are a lot of short boards. Distribution of the short boards is concentrated in a few areas, in a few cases. Some of the prep work/transitions to non-wood floors were rougher than hoped. Pleasant employees.

Randy was great, I'm going to use him at another residence. I would recommend him to anyone.
