Rattner Construction

I first met Ken from a close friend. After the heavy rains, I had a lot of damage. I hired Ken to replace a french door, install a new family room floor, put in a new garbage disposal, a roof leak on the living room ceiling. A leak from the outside into the garage.The french door Kens men installed looks nice, the outside molding they painted is all pilling. The family room they took the molding off the cabinet to install the floor is literary falling of the cabinet... When they installed floor instead of all the planks the same size they must have miss calculated left a one-inch space and stuck a 1-inch piece of flooring instead of doing it right. I had a leak under my kitchen sink, a plumber came out, he said the garbage disposal was not tightened and caused it to leak. The leak on the living room ceiling looked worse after they got done than when they started. I had to call a painter to repair their damage. The leak from the outside into the garage leaked worse after they fixed it than it did before. I mistakenly paid Ken cause I trusted him. In the last few months, I have called Ken three times he said he would send Rick out to fix the problems, I have not seen Rick, Ken now does not answer my calls or respond to my messages. I would not recommend Rattner construction. I have documented all my complaints with pictures.

This is a guy who has been in business for over 40 years. He has built some of the most beautiful homes in North Ranch. They do an excellent job with good eye for detail. End result is magnificient.

We had a patio replaced that was 30 years old. I thought Rick was great, honest, detailed and did a great job. We went with trex and ran into some termite issues which unfortunately increased the bid by around $1400 but it did create a delay and more work for Rick. I was over budget but the finished product was good. The job took almost two weeks but we are happy with the work and finished deck. I would hire Rick again. He is a honest hard working guy and very detailed.

Kitchen and bath rep-do. House was all original (really bad) flooring, fixtures, and cabinets from the early 1970s. Gorgeous now! We kept it in line with the house (it's a track home, not a McMansion) but upscale as I'll be here for at least the next 30 years. Ken is fair and will do what it takes to make the customer happy. He prices it out and SHOW YOU the cost of materials (with allowances), labor costs, and his profit margin so you really understand what you're paying and why. The subs and other workers are pretty good (a few hiccups/miscommunications here and there) and Ken will ensure the work is right or fixed so it is right. Work was done in a reasonable time frame, even a tad faster than promised at some stages. Daily clean up was ok. Only real negatives: 1) no one is really good at everything so 2) YOU need to double check the work is finished "right" so you're happy with it. It's your house, so the small things will bother you. If you're flipping propterty, then it's definitely good enough. Again, (plus side) Ken will make sure you're satisfied. I'll definitely be using him again (almost immediately) on the next big remodel project.
