We wanted new flooring installed before our move-in date while our condo was empty. We bought luxury vinyl plank flooring from Thornton Flooring in Sioux Falls. Raymond Shimel was to be our installer. Raymond immediately impressed us at our first meeting. He confidently told us exactly what the job of laying over 1,400 square feet would entail, saying he could have the installation done before our move-in date of 12/27/2022. He answered all of our questions in a friendly manner which put both of us at ease. Raymond and his helper not only took away the old carpet and flooring, but they installed the new flooring just like he said they would. They completed the work, cleaned up the whole condo, and had all equipment removed three days before our moving day. When I opened the door, what I saw was impressive. The entire floor of our condo was done with precision in every room and with the plank lined up and precisely squared. Thank you Raymond for your expert-class knowledge and a job well done! I needed to have our hard wood floors refinished. They were able to work with my tight timeline. They did a great job of communicating what needed to be done and what my options were. They gave me a quote and completed the job at quoted price. The refinished floor looks awesome and I couldnâ t be happier !! I definitely recommend!!

Ray and his crew were very respectful, kind, and professional. One of Ray s crew saw we were struggling to move the refrigerator and he immediately came over and offered his help. Ray s crew installed 3/4" solid walnut floor, then they finished it, and it turned out more beautiful than I ever imagined!!! Wish this sight enabled me to share pics. Ray made sure I knew not to put furniture back on it for at least 4 days and no rugs for over 30 days, and educated me on how to move appliances back into place so I did not damage the new floor. When the time comes for me to refinish this floor I will definitely be calling Ray and his crew!

He came to provide an estimate--appeared very knowledgeable and answered my questions thoroughly. The estimate for the work is supposed to be provided this evening, which is an incredibly quick turn-around.

Shimal Construction was very professional, prompt, courteous and informative. My 71 year old oak floor is now beautiful!

These guys were polite, respectful, good listeners to what I wanted and needed done, were willing to move a piece of furniture that I couldn't get out along with everything else I moved in order for them to redo the floors. They had extra flooring of the same age from another old house along with them in case they had to do any repair work. They did an excellent job of replacing and blending a few that really needed it, brought back to life some boards that were so water-damaged that I thought the boards were ruined, so the guys were conscious of my budget. I will have them back to finish the last floor in the house and trusted them even though I had to leave for work. I have already passed their name along to someone else who may need work done.
