Write a ReviewI'm so happy that Antonio got back to right away and had a quote to me within days of him contacting me. Great company to work with. They removed my old asbestos roof and couldn't be happier with the service/crew that was here today.
They were able to come in ia day and a half after I contacted them because my project had to be stopped and I had to be out of my home during the project. I was kept up to date on the progress, start to finish.
Red Diamond called me immediately and assured me that they could take care of this. They gave me an estimate assuring me that they would not charge more than that if they had to do more work. At this point, Antonio was my point of contact and he was personable and friendly. I had concerns of proper containment of the area as there is a baby in the house. He told me everything I wanted to hear. This is the estimate breakdown I received: Encapsulation $500, abatement for 14-17 vents $2,000, air test $200, DHS permit $200, disposal fee $200. We did not know how many vents would end up actually having asbestos and so they just wrote the estimate for all of our vents. Carlton was the supervisor that came with another employee. We only found 2 vents with asbestos out of the 14 quoted in the estimate. He did not show me the containment before beginning work as discussed. I would have had them cover our new flooring that was now covered in debris. When the two were à  à ¢à  à  à  à  doneà  à ¢à  à  à  à  Carlton asked for a check for the other half of the estimate. I was a bit confused and told him I would contact his boss Antonio cause the quote had 14 vents and they only did two and I want my other housemates to look at the work before completing the other half of the payment. (We paid 1,550 as a downpayment already) Moments later Antonio called me very demanding and aggressive saying I was refusing to pay. Antonio began gaslighting me and saying he could have quoted more for the size of the house and kept asking me if I understand what a contract is. Using demeaning terms and calling me young. The contractors were still at my home and he was demanding pay. I told Antonio that I would have to get ahold of the treasurer as I am not authorized to write checks out of the house account. (This is a co-op and Antonio was aware because we had to have our treasurer write the first check) He continued to pressure me and send me text messages and Calling me to aggressively attack me and question my intelligence and belittle me. Threatening to put a lien on our home. (We were not refusing to pay at this point. We were just waiting for the treasurer to be home from work to write the check) I told him that I would drive from Madison to Milwaukee to deliver the check the next day. That wasnà  à ¢à  à  à  à  t good enough of an answer and I handed communication over to my male housemates who FOUND MISSED ASBESTOS IN MANY PLACES! The next day, Carlton was sent back to get the missed asbestos. This time he did not cover the area properly, did not have the Hepa air purifier with him, did a sloppy job at fixing the obvious missed spots, did not run an air test even though disturbing asbestos. This caused the housemate with the baby to have to be out of the house for an additional 4 days and the other tenants to take the risk of being in a potentially toxic house. Then we called the Department of Health Services (DHS)cause we began questioning how they encapsulated and their lack of using the purifier to circulate the air in case debris came out. They remediated different than what they discussed over the phone. DHS did not have a permit for Red Diamond. DHS said they did not remediate the way they should have in the vents and a few other places in the basement. They were required to COME BACK A THIRD TIME as it was a matter of them losing their license and they were required to come and fix areas, run the Hepa vac system for the air and do an air test. They didnà  à ¢à  à  à  à  t get the permit required but charged us. They only repaired 2/14 vents quoted after having to come back 3 times. They were trying to charge us the full $2,000 quoted for 14-17 vents but fixing 2. Skip forward to a few weeks later. Our duct cleaner comes and finds MORE MISSED ASBESTOS.
We at Red Diamond Understand that in business it is hard to please everyone, even when you go above and beyond. When our employees arrived to perform the job they were met at the door with hostility and skepticism. After learning that this is a co-op residence it became clear that there may be a problem. After the job was performed and done correctly one of the co-op owners refused to pay, another co-op owner gave our employee a check which he turned into us not knowing it was a cancelled check. We informed the customer that refusal to pay would result in a lien being placed against the property. Red Diamond has never been nor will ever be ru
Great experience, easy , simple contractors and experienced at their job. Would use them and recommend them again
Replied to my ad right away. Was efficient, very thorough, and knowledgeable. Took out the entire wall which had mold and found the true source of the problem. Also removed mold from shower lining. After completing project he painted the entire closet. I will hire again in the future.
I’m so happy that I found them to work on my old house (built in 1895). The asbestos from the hvac system - gone, mold - gone. It smells so much better in here and I feel so much safer being here. The basement and other areas look so much better. They were able to come and start working on it right away. And they’re so nice! Did a good job too :)
Antonio and Skye were fantastic to work with, they got me scheduled in right away and were very professional and accommodating. Their team did an excellent job on site. They were on time and worked fast, they had my asbestos siding down and disposed in less than two hours. Top notch company all around, I would reccommend them to anyone in need of their services.
Didnâ t vacuum the stairs they were using to walk in and out of the asbestos area. Doesnâ t look like they swept or vacuumed before encapsulating the floor because it is rough and there are pieces of debris painted into the floor. We asked if we could polish the floor after and weâ re told we wonâ t want to because how nice it will look. Itâ s fine, you can still see where the tiles were and it does not look smooth or nice enough that I would leave it. I also think they charged us for more square footage than it was. Iâ m glad the asbestos tiles are gone, and they finished the job in 4 hours vs the 3 days we were told. But you can tell they sped through it. And we paid the same for 4 hours vs 3 days.
Antonio was easy to get a hold of and talk to during the process of the project. He was able to answer any questions related to asbestos removal and redoing flooring. His crew is extremely knowledgable and professional. Carl was efficient with the task provided. He took the time to explain about the asbestos removal process, as well as recommendation to epoxy the basement flooring. I would highly recommend this company!
Antonio and his crew got it done in one day, helping keep my project on track and actually getting ahead some
