NW Quality Construction have built many custom homes, additions and ADUs throughout King County for many years. We have worked with Julia from Refine Design Architecture on multiple projects. Julia and her crew are very details at creating and designing homes, additions, DADUs and ADUs. She is responsive and helpful whenever we have questions about her designs. I normally don’t write many reviews unless the company or person is worth the admiration. Julia and her crew are worthy of my admiration. We enlisted RDA for the design of our custom home in the mountains. Their process was thorough and thoughtful, and the end result is something we couldn’t be more proud of. In particular, we loved how they integrated the home into the land. The style choices are unique and finish detail is unmatched. We finished construction about 4 months ago and after living in the home day to day, (even hosting through the holiday season) we can confidently say they nailed the functionality and flow of the layout! This is our primary residence, so every detail mattered to us. RDA took our ideas to the next level while accomplishing all of our wants and needs. We can’t believe we ever considered internet plans, because working with RDA taught us so much. There are design aspects that make for an exceptional living experience, and we couldn’t have understood that without Stone and Julia’s expertise. We had an excellent experience working with Refine Design on our home remodel. They took our funky, older house—with its awkward rooms and doorways—and completely transformed it into a beautiful, cohesive space. It was great working with Refine Design Architecture for our cabin expansion. They listened to our requirements, offered feedback and produced designs that fulfilled our vision of an expanded cabin. We were not pressured into something larger or smaller than our vision. They initially produced "primary" and "alternate" designs until I realized one design would be much easier to build and maintain. Even our kids(8 and 10) input was considered and the new cabin will have a "kid room."

No words can describe how exceptional Julia and Stone are at their work. My husband and I wanted to build a bathroom and we needed their help with getting the construction permit. And since we never tackled such a big home renovation project, we initially really did not know how much we would need them (turns out, yes, we needed them very much and we are just so lucky to have them onboard). Not only did they research extensively into the building codes (including calling the city to sort out any confusions) but they poured so much thought into the design of our bathroom so that it made the most efficient use of space (I love their design). Their detailed drawings also make it easy for our contractor to know what to do, so we don't need to worry about the layout and we know exactly what should be happening with the construction. In addition, they also work with us during the construction process (e.g. to address problems with inspections) and are extremely efficient with getting things done competently and as fast as possible. As someone who always finds things to worry about, working with Julia and Stone has been a pleasantly worry-free process. As we've recently moved to Seattle and are building up a repertoire of trustworthy businesses for home-related things, Refine Design is most definitely a business that we will go back to in the future, and one that we strongly recommend without reservation for anyone looking for good architectural services.
