Hired Refresh construction to redo my deck/patio with Trex and concrete. Here is how it stands less than one year later. My railing on my deck is extremely lose because the lags holding it in split the wood because the bolts are on the very edge of it. Safety hazard and it is not like I am running into it. Left voicemails and texts with ZERO response. Massive concrete crack on new concrete patio. It happens I suppose and finally got them to come out and fix it which they did with a different color of concrete. But guess what, it cracked again in less than a few months with no freezes etc. Now I have a crack again in my new patio and some sections that are a completely different color concrete. They had fill material delivered and dropped off in the road which is fine but they never cleaned it up after weeks of it sitting. My neighbor started to clean it up as they got tired of seeing it so I ended up having to clean up after them. One of the supports braces for the stairs was misplaced/mismeasured so they missed the reinforced concrete part. I caught it during yard work and they ended up just sticking some concrete under there. They used interior paint on my exterior railing. Guess what, it is chipping already. One of the railing poles fell out recently. Took a look and it was cut too short so it was/is just sitting in there. I ended up having to glue it in place to keep it from constantly falling out. When the inspector came out they said they dug the foundation holes too short so they had to keep digging them out. That should have been a red flag right there. I am happy to have a new deck but I am worried about it lasting now.

We contacted Bob with Refresh after speaking with the local Trex distributor. They recommended them as their top contractor who was very familiar with Trex. We were looking for a good local company with experience who had been in business for many years. They are exceptional! Bob cheerfully explained the Trex product to us and laid out their design and build process for our project. We had a unique design challenge in replacing an old deck requiring a large stairway into our yard. We were concerned about the stability which was a problem with the old deteriorating stairway. Bob prepared a design which incorporated a landing and wider stair treads. The design incorporated the existing concrete supports which would improve the stability and give us a modern look. The process took just a few days and we felt very comfortable with their quote and schedule. We were excited to get moving and told Bob to proceed. They ordered the materials and started the permit process immediately. We agreed to an installation date two weeks later and they arrived bright and early on the agreed date. We met the project manager and the members of the crew. Everyone was very professional and worked together well. The PM had over 20 years of construction experience and really impressed us. The project went together seamlessly with no issues which are a testimony to their design and installation experience. Bob the owner was great to work with throughout the project and he stopped by frequently during the day to monitor the progress. We are thrilled with the new deck and anxious to show it off to all our neighbors!
