"We respectfully disagree with this review, as it does not accurately reflect what occurred during this project. Prior to beginning the work, the customer was clearly informed that removing tile (especially using the proper tools required for the job) does generate some dust. As a precaution, our installer set up a plastic containment barrier around the foyer area to minimize dust migration. While no tile removal process is completely dust-free, reasonable steps were taken to control and limit its spread. Shortly after work began, the customer asked our installer to leave the property before the job could be completed. As a result, we were not given the opportunity to finish the work or address any concerns on-site. It is also important to note that no deposit was collected, and we were not compensated in any way for the time and labor already invested. In an effort to resolve the dispute fairly and efficiently, we voluntarily agreed to proceed through arbitration?saving the customer the time and expense of a formal court process. The matter was reviewed, and the ruling was made in our favor. We strive to communicate clearly, perform quality work, and resolve issues professionally. Unfortunately, in this case, we were not given a reasonable opportunity to do so."

Unfortunately, Florida Law considers sub-flooring to be "structural" (requiring general contractor/structural license), even if it is something as simple as a plywood sheet. But since underneath a water damaged sheet (at a 2nd floor) one could have other issues at the 2x6 and further structures, we rather follow the letter of the law and be safer than sorry on something that could potentially damage your property or (God forbid!) harm your family. Some companies could overlook or band-aid the issue just to make the extra money of another room being done, but we rather "lose money" but be honest in showing our customers an unforeseen issue. As spoken, If your husband finds out it's just the plywood and decides to change it himself, we'll be glad to come back and do that room for you. Best regards, Iggy."
