Renaissance Development, LLC

I hired Renaissance to re-tuckpoint my home in 2016. After only a few years, the mortar is failing miserably. in some places the mortar is 90% gone and the bricks are eroding. The work falls under a 10-yr warranty, but after I contacted them and David Hutton came to take a look, he has been very cagey with details and info on how the repair will proceed. He has ignored my repeated requests for details on how they will test the remaining mortar for compromise and when I requested a drawing showing the boundaries of the mortar that needs repair, he has only told me that they'll provide before and after pics. I have no faith whatsoever that this job will be properly repaired after all of this. Save yourself many headaches and lots of money and don't hire this company.

Great work

The job was beautifully executed. The team that did the pointing was timely and professional. However, the work was very dusty. Since this job took place in the basement near the furnace, dust traveled throughout my home. I was very disappointed that they did not offer to clean the home. Therefore unless you are prepared to extensively clean your home, I would not recommend this company.

They did an incredible job on my century old townhouse . I would highly recommend them the work surpassed all my expectations and I am very hard to please

It did take a bit to get the work scheduled, but I think that was because it was the busy summer season. Once I got the work scheduled, it was finished quickly and professionally....no complaints.

It took a while for them to respond to my initial request and a few follow-up e-mails, but when they did respond, they were very knowledgeable of Capitol Hill and the requirements for putting up a retaining wall in D.C. Dr. Christina is very professional and a pleasure to work with. I was confident that I was getting the "real story" regarding what permits I needed, how long the work would take, and what the estimated cost would be. The project has not been completed yet, so I cannot evaluate their workmanship, etc. at this time.

Extremely professional. However, it was hard to sync scheduled with a company representative to come and view my property. But after they arrived I was satisfied with the professionalism and knowledge of the project.

They were great on the explaining the costs and benefits of the projects, and willing to work with me on even tiny details. Unfortunately the field crew lead forgot to have his team do the tiny details. A call back, and the owner had the team return, and fix everything. The house is now very solid, and looks a lot better.

Had the back our 30's rowhouse tuck-pointed with some minor brick repair. Work was completed on a timely basis, thorough clean-up, and with no surprises.

As a marketing researcher, I have such admiration for how Christina has clearly thought through all the "pain points" that customers like me have with home improvement projects - getting your house dirty, worries about safety and security, worries about how your cat will deal with it all, etc., etc. I truly appreciated her rich and deep understanding of the building and her ability to explain things in a very non-academic way. Finally, I've never felt more cared for by a company than I have with Renaissance!
