I hired Andrew to do a roof on my home, I sent him a down payment on 11/01/18, Andrew said that he would start within a week and no work has been done, I asked for my money back and rudely Andrew said they do not give refunds, told me he is not making much money and also told me my house was a wreck

They are untruthful and lie. Very unprofessional. They badger their customers. Don't return phone calls. I think it is a very shady operation. I'm very disappointed they are using the veteran name.

They have been very hard to get in touch with. They have taken a deposit and we do not even know if they ordered materials. No response when we call them. We were supposed to coordinate with them to see what needs to be done and time frame.

Residential Improvements provided some great service. When we had issues with how some of the crew was completing the project, the owner asked for the work to be re-accomplished to our satisfaction. Rob and his crew were polite, professional and punctual. We are very satisfied with our new bathroom.

The gentlemen who performed the stone work did an outstanding job! I'm very picky, and leery of using contractors based on some bad experiences in the past. This crew came in, put up the stone siding exactly the way I wanted it done, and cleaned everything up when they were finished. Very professional, and did an outstanding job applying the stone siding. I highly recommend Residential Improvements for any exterior work you are looking to get done!

Unfortunately I am obligated to give .5 star as a rating. If it were possible i would give them 0. I hired them in May 2018 to reside my entire house. Signed the contract, paid partial cash and partial financing. I was told the work would start end of June 2018. After months going by with not even a peep from anyone as to when materials would arrive or an updated work start date i started calling and leaving numerous messages that all went un-returned. There was even an entire week that the voice mailbox was full. So after weeks of non returned messages i gave up and filed a complaint to Homeadvisor as well as the attorney generals office as well as disputing the financing because they literally robed me. No one should have to go through this and homeowners come here to find reputable people to do the jobs they're hired to do. DO NOT hire these people. i can only be grateful that they didn't start the work and then ditch out like so many other reviewers have noted.

run away they do not come when they say they will. Their motto is all about you but it should be all about your money. They can never be reached when you call their office. The answering machine says they will call you back but they never do.

In December of 2017 I signed with them for a $20,000 down payment. They were scheduled to work in March. So far I have paid $30,000 . I have called them several times and they have never returned my call. The last time I got a hold of them a few months ago they said I was next on the list. I don't know what list they are talking about but I am being held up on two projects that I need to get completed by winter because of this.

Vinyl Siding - Install or Completely Replace
I hired them to replace my windows and siding. The sales rep did not specify that window replacement was not total window replacement. They just cut out the windows from the existing frame and installed inserts. They have been back at least 8 times to repair siding that was falling off the house, that was improperly installed. I have called them again several times in the past three weeks and they have assured me they would be back within a week to fix more of the siding that is falling off the house, they have not called me back or scheduled anyone to fix the problem. The owner Andy Branley who is a veteran apologized for the poor job, I did not initially give a review for the job because of his veteran status, I too am a veteran of the Vietnam war and could not let this go any longer, it has been over a year and I'm still trying to get them to come and fix the siding that was improperly installed.
Response from Residential Improvements, Inc.
"This is a windy area and there can be issues with shake siding on the top course. We came out to the home multiple times for small issues and there was never a problem. I personally went to his home and told him I would redo all the windows to his expectations, just let me order new ones. He declined. I said leave these for now and I will do all new. He declined. The last service he had was a piece of trim came loose, I gave it to my service department and did not follow up, that was my fault. The service was a couple nails and a ladder to get to the spot. I called Saturday and was sending out my new service tech. He declined and told my rep. he hired another guy, I said send me the bill I will reimburse him. We came and serviced Steve every time he called (8 times) but this last minor service I thought my service guy did it but he didn't. This is such an unfair review. I can't believe Steve can get away with this, bringing my rating down based on a nail and a ladder. I hope it makes you feel good Steve. We will still be here when you call. Your siding was installed to manufacturers specifications, you have a warranty and you are spreading lies, pretty sad. We are not perfect but I do make it a point to service my jobs as needed. You had 8 very minor issues. Any one please call my cell at 518-339-9240 I can show you the completion where Steve was happy and the minor services we completed."

They did not finish the siding of my home or the trim on my windows. He did not finish my deck they did not secure the one corner of the deck which is now an insurance issue. They poured a concrete garage slab 6 inches below grade. They took $80,000 of a $93,000 job, and never finished anything they started. I have not seen him since February.
Response from Residential Improvements, Inc.
"Ken, This is really not fair. Anyone can call me and I would be glad to go from start to finish on all the work we did for you. I did all the work I could on your father's house. First off, you lied and said you owned the home and that is fine because you do have residence there. I did all of your siding and even changed the stone for you because you did not like the look after we did thousands of dollars of work. I had my carpenter there every day doing exactly what you wanted on the deck and step by step you were there and any one can call me and ask my son and my carpenter. Building the stainless steel wire railings takes precision and accuracy and we did it all to your satisfaction. We built you a 40 by 16 foot deck that went around a corner another 10 or 16 feet, I forget exactly because I don't have your file in front of me.The whole deck was made of the highest grade composite decking and rails with stainless steel cables laced through. Please, anyone call me to see this deck because I have pictures before and after. The front deck was also included even though you changed the stair plan and cost me another $1,200.00 dollars in stainless steel cable connectors. On the deck alone my material cost was over $30,000 dollars. Then I did your entire home with the highest grade siding with insulation attached. We replaced all of your windows with triple pane windows and you loved all of the work, you even signed off on it and told me my guys were great. The material for the stone and siding cost my company 15K or more and I can show any one that wants to see. That does not include the labor installing it. The windows are my most expensive too and anyone please call me for the bill. You know your home is at the bottom of a hill and you have major water problems in the basement but I sealed the new basement windows (the original windows were letting water just flow in) and built them up a bit with pressure treated lumber to stop the water flow. Your whole foundation is below grade, you know it and we discussed it. Then we did you foundation for the garage. The inspector said that I could just pour a slab that uses 1/2 the concrete and 1/2 the work but because you were on the mountain I went for the full footing and frost walls and I even bumped you up to a 6-8 inch slab. You know that we spoke before I poured the slab. YOU WANTED A BIGGER THAN NORMAL GARAGE DOOR! I had to keep the slab a bit lower but we discussed that I would put an apron drain in and run the water, if there was a flow, over to city drainage, which we were well above. This was your only option based on the garage door clearance you wanted. This is unbelievable how a guy, like you, a business owner, can lie and try to hurt me. Everything I did was approved by the code enforcement officer and approved. I even had the permit in hand and discussed it all with the code officer. You know I was approved for all the permits and you gladly paid, although I wanted to wait. You paid befo"

The communication problem was acute, they took my deposit in April and never started the job. After multiple phone calls I did eventually get my money back.
Response from Residential Improvements, Inc.
"you had special order siding, takes 5 weeks to get. I own it now. Thanks, but you are unfair. We did work for you in the past you said do hardie board no problem...I got the permit, and you never read your home owners association rules so we were stopped and I had to take it down.I still have that siding. Then you wanted wood, we ordered it and did it and you were happy. Unbelievable you try to hurt my company, you are a loathsome individual."

Long on promises, short on delivery. Asked if they used Sub-Contractors, assured they only used their own employees. Sub-contractors showed up for job. Work done competently, good workers for the most part. Have one small problem I'm trying to get resolved. This is where the fun started. Multiple phone calls, multiple assurances, promises of problem to be taken care of, asked many times to be kept informed of timing of resolution. Nada, zilch, none. Live in high traffic area, still have their sign, thinking of adding comments. At this point, would have hard time recommending this company, Hoping for speedy resolve. Not to belabor the point, but other sites have very similar reviews.
Response from Residential Improvements, Inc.
"First of all, the people you say are subcontractors, are people that work for my company. Based on the way they run their crews you have to understand that this is the way they want to get paid. I have 18 employees that want me to pay them through my payroll. Any one of the individuals that worked on your property are insured by me, their work is backed by me and anything done is my responsibility. You even said they did a great job but you have a small issue so you give me a 1/2 star? You never called me at 518-339-9240. I service and back all of our jobs. I am so sad that you would destroy my company here based on what you said was a "small issue". I guess there is no way to resolve this horrible rating but I wish you would reconsider. Thank you, Andy"

** I have posted this same review on Google.** I unfortunately would never recommend this company to anyone due to the frustrating experience in getting our work done. My husband and I had a project that was pretty small: installation of gutters on two different small areas of our home and some deck work to properly install some flashing. We had our initial estimate for the work on 10/3/17 and signed the paperwork on 10/9/17. There were issues with lateness and not contacting me at this point and some unpreparedness on the part of the salesman that made me doubt whether we should actually move forward. But for a variety of reasons we did decide to move ahead, which I regret. At both visits, I asked the salesman approximately when the work could be completed and both times he indicated it could be be completed quickly; at the second appointment he said I would most likely be hearing from the scheduling department by the end of the week to set up the projects. This was definitely a selling point for us. When I hadnt heard from anyone within the timeframe, I called the company to get an update as to about when they would be scheduling the project. The woman I spoke with when I called initially told me she would have no way of knowing this and that they were very busy with projects. She ultimately said probably several weeks. I called every 3 or so weeks and spoke with her and was never able to get information about my project; I asked to speak to the scheduling department but she said it was just her in the office. I was told I would be called back and never was. Finally, in the second week of January, I called and got someone different on the phone and explained my concerns to him. He said he was personally looking into it and would get back to me. I never heard from him again, but two days later, two workers showed up at my door to do the deck work. This had not been scheduled at all with me and I had no idea they were coming. (This is not at all the fault of the workers as they thought it had been all worked out). But I was able to have them do the work that day and they were very respectful, kind, and did good work. Next started an extremely frustrating period of trying to get the gutter work done. I made numerous appointments (I believe 7 total) with Patrick to come to my home and do the work and he no-showed every single appointment. Maybe once or twice he contacted me at the time of the appointment to cancel, but for all the others, I was the one who reached out when he didnt show up and didnt call. He would never answer his phone and his voicemail was no longer accepting messages so we primarily corresponded via text. I called the office and tried to get assigned a different person for the work, but instead they sent Patrick to my house at 5 PM one day, without scheduling it or notifying me in any way. It was too late for him to do any work anyway because it was already dark out. I started to get some traction
Response from Residential Improvements, Inc.
"Patrick was my gutter manager and based on this review he is fired and no longer works for Residential Improvements. It was his job to coordinate all gutter jobs and ensure a timely install. Thank you for your feed back. I am the owner and I spoke with you and I know my general manager spoke with you multiple times. You were given a great sale price for the winter and all of our great winter pricing projects the customer is asked to be flexible in order to keep out crews working and many issues pop up. Based on this review you were more than flexible. You say you regret working with us and that concerns me as many customers had opposite experiences with my company. I called and thanked you, I remember specifically. You received the highest quality job and material but feel as though trying to destroy my company on Home Advisor and Google makes you feel better. I just wish there was another way. Patrick seems to have been your main source of concern and you are not the only one. Just a bit of back ground, I am a disabled vet and so is Patrick, he suffers from the riggers he experienced as a soldier. I try to employ Vets when I can but it does not always work out. I am truly sorry for your experience, everything you mentioned is my fault and I will strive to ensure we get better. We will always be here at 518-451-9487 if you call. I apologize for your experience thank you Andy"

Untrained worker who had 15 min of instruction in the morning and left to himself, filthy, never cleaned up, not well coordinated. told job would be done by Thanksgiving, not finished until middle of January. Work was sloppy and unprofessional, personal property damaged, just wanted the money and didn't care about the lack of quality. Still not right. A nightmare from start to finish. ex. cut window opening too large, stands out on outside of house, wallboard tape shows, wallboard seams look drunk, electrical outlets left holes in the walls, chunks of spackle on furniture and new flooring just laid.

while the time line wasn't accurate or even close it was during some very cold months and the installers were dealing with the elements...the work speaks for itself, the install looks perfect, top quality job... mike and craig were clean and very professional, they really did a great job and we would gladly recommend this company to a friend....

Have edited my review...one and half years later, the siding has begun bubbling, some sections are hanging down...my house is not as warm as it should be with insulated siding. My guess is that they did not seal around the windows as it was installed in sub-zero weather. I had to pay $2,000 to repair water damage around an exterior door as they did not place a drip edge around the top. $711 was paid to a general contractor to fix/replace the bad siding and fix the siding hanging down.

The salesperson overstated what they are going do and the incidentals. After they got paid they become silent. Still waiting on them to call me back with the resolution.
Response from Residential Improvements, Inc.
"Joe, we did everything you wanted, you wanted us to do screens in the spring time. Right now there are blizzards, also the window sash that failed based on the manufactures defect has arrived and the manufacture is coordinating with your friend the last I heard. I spoke with the manufactures rep. And he said all is fine about a month or more ago..... I don?t believe you are living at the lake house at this time of year so we don?t have access to the house. I don?t know what incidentals you are referring to? It is really harsh to score me that low on incidentals that you are talking about if I don?t know what they are....I re read the Contract and I see we met all of our requirements....please... If you call me at 518-339-9240 I will resolve any issue you have. We are not some company that won?t honor your concerns...I will take personal responsibility. My name is Andy The owner...call any time"

The 2 installers, David & Zack, were very professional and stayed on the job until all work was done ( 2 windows for my Living Room, a front entry door and a storm door for my front entry ). Before they left they had me inspect the work and clean up to make sure I was satisfied with everything and I was very pleased with what I saw.
