The work that was performed was good. The communication wasn't. They had some illness within the crew which held up the project. It was completed in only 2 days once work began including replacement of my skylight.

Chet Hayes of Residential and Commercial Renovations, Inc. was hired to replace and install a new roof on my home on January 23, 2019. He required $6,700.00 1/2 down for the complete estimate of $13,400.00. He cashed the check for $6.700.00 on January 28, 2019. A worker came Feb 4, 2019 and caulked an approximate 1-inch hole in roof causing a leak. It is November 3, 2019, no further work or attempts to complete work have been done to date. Repeated attempts to schedule work were met with lies and excuses. I requested my $6700.00 back in mid September from Chet Hayes, he refuses to return money, for which no work was competed, and which I am paying for on a home equity loan. Chet Hayes refuses to honorably resolve this matter. I advise no one to get involved with this dishonest, disreputable contractor.

Residential and Commercial Renovations do incredible work at a reasonable price. Chet and his crew are fantastic! They've done two complete tear offs and new roof installs for us. The quality of materials and workmanship is great. So is clean-up after the job is done. We would not use anyone else for roofing and we plan to ask them to do some other renovation projects as well. It is a big relief to know who you can trust and who to hire when an important house project needs doing.

Within 48 hours after signing a contract to replace our roof, we cancelled the contract (well within the time period set forth for cancellation). Chet performed no work and incurred no expenses yet he continues to hold our down payment of $12,250 which his contract requires to be returned to us within 10 days of cancellation. That was 53 days ago and after over a dozen requests to refund our money!

Previously complained about getting a problem fixed. A plumber finally came out and fixed the problem, I think. I am happy the problem is finally fixed. I do wish the problem had been resolved sooner, but it has been taken care of. I like doing business with a company that stands behind their work.

"While we appreciate the customers comments I like doing business with a company that stands behind their work. We found her response to be a back-handed compliment. A plumber finally came out and fixed the problem. I think. This customer had a friend working in her house at the same time and in the same area we were contracted to work. This caused delays as their friend created issues which the customer wanted us to correct even though we were not contracted to do these items. Initially, we remedied his incorrect installation of a fan at no charge. When the customer demanded we re-install their leaking toilet when their friend broke the toilet?s flange, we could no longer provide free services, and this created an unfavorable situation. Our customers receive professional services from our company in a timely manner. While we understand her frustration, having a Weekend Handyman friend working in the same area as a licensed contractor is never a good idea. We are requesting you remove her review completely. This was not work we were contracted to do. Our other 40, 5-star reviews speak for themselves. Thank you, Chet Hayes Residential and Commercial Renovations, Inc."

Kitchen Remodel
The work crew was very friendly, showed up on time each day. They didn't waste time and cleaned up at the end of each day. I have previously installed hardware bamboo flooring which they had to partially disassemble for the remodel. They did that, recut some of the pieces to accommodate the new layout of my kitchen. I was really nervous about that part, but was "floored" 😁 when it was done quickly and perfectly. My small kitchen is now absolutely beautiful. I will be using this company for my bathroom remodel.

They did an awesome job on our roof and we ended up hiring them to install our siding on our home and garage. Their attention to detail is impeccable. They also installed a new gutter, man door on the garage, wrapped our pole on our porch as well as installed beautiful composite wood over our old cement porch. We are more than pleased with the job they did.

Good pre-job communication. These guys managed to tear off old roof, make repairs to roof, re-shingle, and clean-up a 4000 sq. foot house in only 3 days (one of them being > 12 hours in 85 degree weather).. My roof looks stunning! What dedication! Thank you Chet and crew!
