Owner J. Rice responded almost immediately to my request, came on site within a few days and drafted a great looking, budget-friendly and timely proposal on the spot for our little project (2 gate and small fencing design and installation). I was extremely impressed by his promptness and professionalism, especially considering that the other 2 contractors were neither of those things. One never responded after the initial on-site assessment and the other never beyond our initial phone conversation. We set a date and time for the installation, shook hands - and that was the end of his professionalism. He didn't show up on the promised date/time so I waited about an hr then began calling him. Left a few msgs, then finally about 6 hrs later he actually picked up, apologized for not calling with an update and said, I got stuck on a big project, but I have your number now (I had already given it to him at our 1st mtg) and will call later tonight with an updated ETA.? Nothing, no call, no text, no email by late that night so I called him again; had to leave another voicemail. I called him a few more times the following morning and never heard from him again. What a pro... My recommendation: don't bother hiring J. Rice & Sons for your project, especially if it's not big enough for him to even bother considering taking on.

Justin was great! Was well within by budget and even started a week earlier that originally quoted. He was done all in one day. Fantastic!

he was alittle more expensive but did go with him based on what he knew would recommend him also

always do recommend was a reasonable guy came with multiple plans to meet my needs and helpful to have a resource
