Rich Apolito Electrician

I needed to replace a ceiling fan in my hallway going to my attic which I rely on a lot. Rich came and told me that he would research and let me know what fan to buy and if I purchased the fan he would install it. He sent me a text with the picture of the fan and said I can purchase it from Home Depot and he would install it. HIs estimate was $400/$500 for the install. He was here much longer than he expected and increased the install fee to $725. He and his worker Vince came and installed the fan - even though the louver was bent when taken out of the box. He did not inform me of this - informed me when he sent me the invoice for the $725 install fee. He said if I purchased another fan he would install it for $375. The fan cost me $349. This fan was evidently too big and they had to cut a bigger whole in my ceiling. They installed the fan after 2.5 hours of work. When he pulled the cord the fan did work - although the louver did not close properly. He told me to go up and add insulation which would make the fan pull more. I did not do this. I then realized that the pull cord was hitting wood before making contact with the fan which did not give the cord a full pull. After 1 week the fan froze and quit working. When I called him up he informed me without even coming back that the fan motor was defective, and I should return the fan to Home Depot and they would refund my money and maybe his install fee? The phone call got heated for I could not believe he was putting this on me. He informed me that he did not tell me to buy a fan from China!!! He then informed me that he has been in business for 40 years and is building a million or more dollar home in Florida!!! I had to get assistance to remove the fan for I had NO CLUE how to disconnect the electric. Home Depot refunded my money for the fan and would not refund the install fee - no kidding. I put my faith and trust in him to do a good job and my family/friends are astounded as to how this electrician does business. This is my reason for a .5 rating. I now have a piece of cardboard covering the hole and I am out $725 which is unreal. Everyone is informing me that a good contractor guarantees their work for AT LEAST 30 days. Go figure????? I would not recommend hiring this contractor.

Rich Apolito is a pathological liar. He completely screwed over myself and my family and shows NO REGARD of respect for anyone except himself. He is extremely selfish. He left dust and garbage everywhere. My house needed Re-rewired AFTER he completed his job.

I had a switch that was shorting out. I called Rich at 9:30 on a Saturday morning and he had it replaced by 11:30. Didnâ t overcharge me either. Would highly recommend!

Rich was incredible! He answered immediately when I called and I was able to get an appointment that was convenient for me with no problem. He arrived on time and our ceiling fan was installed in no time! Rich took the time to explain everything to us and made sure we were happy with his work. I am so incredibly happy we found Rich!

I called Rich after a storm brought down trees and a telephone pole and all associated wires with it and ripped the service from the house...not only did Rich get there in the most timely fashion (he was there before any utility company came out)...his work was excellent and very fair...as a local concrete/masonry contractor of 25+ years, I have since refererred Rich and his crew to countless customers of mine, all with favorable results. I would and still do recommend Rich every opportunity I get. In this day of fly-by-night contrsctors, Rich is the "REAL DEAL". Paul @ Mastercraft Masonry

Rich was great and very knowledgeable! In January he wired my new kitchen during remodeling and added electric smoke detectors throughout the house. They did a great job in the estimated timeframe I was given and also tended to a few odds and ends I needed to be completed at home. I would definitely hire again for future projects.
