Mike and his crew were very professional and met all of my expectations. I would recommend R. M. Construction to any body I know. Mike and his team also completely removed and rebuilt my decks last year and my wife and I are very satisfied with his work.

I hired Richard (Mike) Garner to remodel my attic in Blair Farms. We signed a contract and I paid him over $21,000 dollars. After his employees cut a whole in my roof for a new dormer they then walked off the job which resulted in water damage to my home. Mr. Garnerâs work did not pass the Morehead City Inspection Divisionâs inspection. If you are looking for a contractor who wonât pass code inspection, who will walk off the job, whose work will result in water damage to the rest of your home, have his subcontractors threaten to file mechanicâs leans against your property for non-payment, cause you to hire an attorney and keep your money then Richard (Mike) Garner and Trisha Garner DBA R.M. Garner Construction CO are the contractors for you. Please donât believe his responses to negative reviews. Call the Morehead City Inspection Division or electricians and HVAC companyâs in the Newport, NC and due your own due diligence.

"Regarding Bill Neal, Please aloud me (founder of RMGarner Construction 44 years ago), to comment! The only truth in his statement is, yes we had a contract! A. All subcontractors have been paid. B. I personally appeared before the Morehead Building Inspector to discuss? weathering in the house in question. Inspector agreed we should cover the roof with 30lb felt, to avoid any damage. We did as the inspector suggested. C.Mr.Neal and his wife were behind in payment based on terms of the contract. D.Most folks would have stopped considerably earlier, but again we choose to dry in the one 7? Dormer prior to suspending further work due to incoming rain. E."

Mike and Liz were top notch professionals!!!They built a deck addition that was beyond our expectations. They met with us to find out what we wanted and kept in constant contact before, during, and after the project. The deck is fabulous and they finished on time and within budget. "We were very pleased that Mr. Marks tried many times to give us a 5.0 but due to issues with imputing that with the site, his wife ended up giving us a 4.0 since she felt that Home Advisor had not given her the option to give a 4.75 or above. All concerns have been taken care of and we enjoyed these clients very much."

Richard (Mike) Garner Construction. I hired him to finish out my attic space and add a dormer onto my home. His workmanship was very poor and did not pass the code inspector's inspection nor follow the PE engineer's drawing. His employees walked off the job after cutting a hole in my roof which resulted in water damage to my home. It will cost tens of thousands to fix and complete this project. Suppliers and sub-contractors have requested payment from me for non-payment of materials supplied to my home, even though Mr. Garner and Ms. Tisha Garner were paid more than $21,000 for 50% of the work and materials.

"I have been in the Construction field for over 40 years. Unfortunately the statement made by this owner is not entirely true. What is true is that I was hired by them, I did a professional and above standard job on their project and the inspections did pass. I regret that the rest is not worded as it should be to be truthful. I have never been one who sets the bar low for myself or anyone who works with me. If there were any issues they would have been addressed by the subcontractor's immediately upon notice."

Richard (Michael) Garner Construction WARNING! DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR! Semi and unskilled laborers leads to poor work and unfinished work that not only looks BAD, but does not pass inspections! Left my job, without finishing and passing final inspection! THOUSANDS of dollars to complete and fix this project. Suppliers coming after me for non-payment of materials supplied to my home, even though he was paid more than $89,000 for a 700 sq.ft. addition!

"I am deeply disheartened by this negative review. Not in my over 40 years in the Construction business have I been given such feedback. My crew and I spent many weeks doing a professional and beautiful renovation to her home according to the specifications given by the owner. Each step was inspected and approved by the authorized Inspectors. Additionally, we spent many days and weeks making changes and adding things that were not in the contract but were in my interest to please the client. Unfortunately, there are sometime those that do not have the finances to complete a project so it is in their nature to lash out at others. Regretfully, that is the case here."

Mike is still working on the project but he and his men have been great to work with. I always feel he is putting my needs first and has explained everything along the way. I have had confidence in him and have trusted him with the days I have had to be gone. I've had lots of questions as this is my first remodeling project and he's answered everything in a patient and timely manner. Am looking forward to the finished project.
