Ridgway Chimney Service

Had to have a brick chimney repaired. Mr. Ridgway came out an suggested that I have the old brick chimney stuccoed. I really thought I did not like stucco. It turns out I did not like a particular type of stucco. I drove around the neighborhood and stopped and took pics of chimneys that were stuccoed that I liked. After determing the finish and color I liked, had the work completed. This came with a 20 year warranty.

Promt!Gave me a window between 11-1. Showed up at 11:30. Quick and efficient.

Seems to have done a good job. It didn't take long to clean one chimney and fireplace (approx. 1/2 hour). He came about 20 minutes late - said there was bad traffic, but I'm otherwise satisfied.

Wow, was prompt and accommodating, here the next day (a Saturday) which was perfect.

He took one look in my chimney and said it didnt need cleaning and was ready for use. He showed me how to look in and tell when it was time to be cleaned. There was no charge for the visit.

Came first and inspected my fireplace. Said I needed a sweep and relining. Demanded over 50% down to do the job. On the day he did the work, he arrived 90 minutes late. Never went on the roof, and did the fastest chimney sweep I ever had. The relining seems okay. Wrote a check for the balance, which I needed to add $ to my account to cover. I asked if he was depositing it today, and if not, my direct deposit paycheck would cover it tomorrow. He said not to worry, he would not deposit same day. He lied. Cost me $35. Said he would refund the fee. Never did. So-so work and untrustworthy.

Not happy with the work

I was told the service person would arrive between 9 and 11. He arrived at 3:00 and did not call to say he would be late. He looked up the chimney with a flashlight and told me it was fine. The charge for his 10 minutes of work was $105. I was given a receipt that states the chimney was inspected and has a satisfactory rating. This is all that is required by my home owners insurance and by Cherry Hill Twp. We are now using the fireplace after 10 years and enjoying it.

They responded promply, 5 mins after I subitted the request and was there the next day- cleaned up, etc.

I gave the gentleman I spoke to on the phone very specific instructions about the arrival time based on the time my husband arrives home from his morning shift. I told him would not be back until shortly after 9:00. I was told that they would come AT 9:00 and that if he was not back they would wait for him. He arrived home at 9:00 and they had been here at 8:45 and left! They then tried to reschedule for another time that he would not be home. Finally, they came to an agreement that they would come "first thing" Saturday morning.They came at 7:30 AM!And made no apology for the snafu's earlier.

He was prompt and did a great job. He was very neat.

They analyzed the water leak and determined the chimney need relining as the aluminum liner installed 12 years ago was full of broken bird nests at the bottom of 3 story house causing condensation and co2 leakage. This was after a roofing company sealed the old chimney cap and later replaced the cap to no avail as the leak was from condensation vs. rain leakage. I am very satisfied with this FAMILY business of Father, Mother and Son with all aspects of this repair.

I finally had my chimney lined. Ridgeway came in and cleaned two chimneys in my home. I had been told over a six year period that I needed to have the major work done, but it was really starting to break apart as Mr. Ridgeway showed me as soon as he arrived. I could see that the job could not be put off any longer. I'm looking toward to a warm winter without the fear of my chimney caving in....

He was a good guy! His services were better then others I have received. He was very clean, put down protection and did a great job. Also, his pricing was very reasonable and cheaper then others.
