Beware, these a crooks. They abandon the work as soon as they get paid.

I will like to make people aware that I paid this contractor Riggs Restoration, 12,000 to complete my home expansion of the living room, kitchen, and relocate the laundry room last phase of my expasion project at my home and they disapeared and never came back or finished my home project, and here is why: During the phases of my home project some exclusions were made in the contract by the comtractor because I purchased, tiles, paint, and the contractor did not have to do my new porch cover. The contractor agreed to exclude these things from my home project contract, but did not discount the exclusions prices from the initial total price of my home project and everytime I ask for the adjustment in price the owner & project manager ignored my requests. That said, I called the contractor & project manager, text, emailed over and over and kept ignoring my request for the adjustment for the total price of my project. To make the story short, after I paid them the last 12,000 to complete my project, and told them, I was holding the last payment of 5,850 I had to pay, so they decided that disapearing was the best they could do to avoid making the adjustment to the project price, so they disapeared. The owner never even as of today, called my wife or myself to provide us as customers, an honest & ethical justification for not completing the project, but we already knew why, buy thats ok! So they took the last money, and since they had no interest in adjusting the total project price, they never came back or had the guts to call us with an explanation, therefore folks out there, be aware of these so call contractors that promises so many good things and then like to abandon the projects when you put them on the spot. Ah, and ensure you get an initial breakdown with prices in case you exclude anything from the project. I ended finising the work with my wife & the help of others, and we forgot about the matter, and we do not lose skeep over it at all, it's only money. Like I always say, "what goes around, comes around " & I leave it to that! In addition, during the project that started around mid-March, 2019 they worked 2 days out of the week and then came back a week later to continue with my home expansion project, they also promised that the project will take 2 1/2 to 3 weeks to be completed, however at the 5th month, they decided to abandon the project after they were paid 12,000 to complete the remaining of the project as I mentioned above and never came back. I honestly thought the owner and head of the business would courtesy called us to inform us that there was any problems or concerns, but the owner never did. One last advice folks, ensure you are monitoring that material used in your projects is new material because the project manager handling my home expansion project also tried to put old smelly, and maybe full of termites insulation in between studs, before installing the sheetrock boards, however when I noticed the arrived with old insulation, demanded new insulation, since I was paying for new material, not re-used, so he got new packed in the bag insulation, but if I wasn't monitoring my project, he would off sneaked the old insulation, so be aware of that folks!
