Riihinen Repairs, LLC

I hired Mr. Riihinen to install 3 exterior doors, repair woodpecker damage to my cedar shake home exterior, power wash home exterior, install a new door to my laundry rm, and install an existing wood panel to a new under counter ice maker. He was very unreliable and could never be counted on to show up when he said he would. I paid $8000 for an estimate of $12,000. Mr. Riihinen partially installed 2 exterior doors and one sliding patio door and spent a total of 13 hours of labor at my home. I became very disappointed with his lack of reliability and told him to complete the exterior door install, but to cancel the rest of the project. He left the job with doors partially installed, open space around the doors, and only 2 of 3 doors function. It is November in Wisconsin and I have to tarp and duct tape around the door openings until I can find another contractor to finish the job. So for $8000, I have 3 partially installed exterior doors, only 1 of which functions. Mr. Riihinen states that he will send me a zero balance invoice. I have asked for a portion of my money back, invoices for the cost of the doors he supplied, and a copy of his insurance (as he advertises on his business card). I have received none of these, and it has been 2 weeks since he left me with incompletely installed exterior doors. This contractor is unreliable, does poor quality work, and is a thief.

Mathew Riihinen and I have counted 6 jobs he has done for us in the past two years. He is conscientious, resourceful, and a please to work with. Very charismatic and provided great with great value. Jobs done in all four seasons, from plowing snow, cleaning gutters, cleaning the house, plat removal and next weeks stump grinding. He has installed huge bookshelves for us, on the inside.
