I had the pleasure of getting Robco to install my rooftop solar back in September of 2019, and the experience has been a delight from end to end. Partly solar is great, but equally Robco, their salesman, Jorge, and their installation team were delightful to work with! I moved to Vegas in July â 19, and had always thought about solar, and then when I actually got here, well, thereâ s no better place! My first steps towards getting solar actually came from a door-door salesman, and I had a deal in principle with them (I canâ t recall the company name) but before I got hustled, I decided I should do some diligence on alternative proposals. This became a problem b/c, of course, pressure tactics and what not; they said the deal was only good until Tuesday or something (giving me over a weekend). So I lined up 2 local companies (Robco and Sol-up) and Costco/SunRun to come by and give me their pitch. To all companyâ s credit, they were responsive and able to accomodate the constraint. But Robco won handily over the other 3 companies for what I thought were pretty material reasons. First, the door-door proposal just turned out to be not that great a deal, shocker...a little high on cost, and seemed like they were further cutting cost by using last generation panels so, no thx. Also their salesman talked way too much, but thatâ s mere detail. SunRun/Costco, like Robco, had a professional, knowledgeable, and courteous salesman, but when it came down to numbers, admitted that they couldn't compete; process and technology seemed comparable, but I guess there was extra overhead requirements from being with big firm, b/c the difference was pretty drastic (on the order of $22K for SunRun and $17K for Robco, for ~5.75kW system). Next, the other local company, Sol-Up. Truthfully, their salesman seemed totally apathetic, possibly under the influence, and even though they were comparable on price and the technology checked out, I definitely didnâ t want that dude handling my business. So, Jorge came along (actually he wasnâ t last, but, again, details), knew his stuff forwards and backwards, put up with me watching the crossfit games while he was trying to sell me solar, and the deal was done! Paperwork back and forth was pretty painless, and installation happened about 3 weeks later, the week after labor day for those after specifics. The install crew was another pleasant surprise. Everyone on Robcoâ s crew seemed knowledgeable and could address any questions I had, and they were pleasant dudes as well. More assuringly, none of them seemed like they were picked up on the fly, and they all seemed like they had installed a number of systems. In total the work took just shy of 2 days, and went very smoothly. After install, it was another ~3 weeks waiting around for the city to come inspect/permit and then the big day on October 2 we started making power! So from the sales call to making power took from August 4 - October 2 (again for specifics). As you might have worked out, cost came out to around $3 per watt, which is right in the ballpark with everything I had read online, but I canâ t say enough how much the service and attention to detail that came with that made it feel like a steal. Great value; I would spend the money again without hesitation! So itâ s been just over 6 months now, the system is humming along, and zero complaints. Jorge even keeps in touch to make sure everything is going well, A first class organization all the way through. Anyway, thatâ s enough rambling, choosing Robco and Jorge to install my rooftop solar was a great decision!
