Rock River Painting, LLC

Initially quoted that painting the interior of my home would take 4 days, maybe 5 tops. Ended up taking 14 days. We boarded our dog at a sitter for the days they were supposed to paint and he did not come paint at all 3 of those days or offer to cover the boarding expenses. Used every excuse in the book that his employees were flaking/quitting to not having a baby sitter for his kids. Many days no one came by our house at all to paint while his trailer was parked in our driveway, supplies laid out in our garage, and plastic tarps were scattered throughout our home with our furniture. To top it off did a mediocre job at best. A couple spots were left completely untouched by paint or in need of additional coat. Guests have commented that our ceiling paint looks funky. Embarrassing. I did not want to write this review about this small business but John did not answer my text when I politely asked that he come back and at least paint the spots he missed.

Rock River Contracting did an amazing job painting my new home. The communication was great and all done through text. I wasn’t in the home yet and he was able to provide me with a quote without seeing the place first. They were professional, punctual, efficient and were able to get the job done all in one day! I will definitely hire them again!

John DID NOT RESPOND to several attempts to discuss a spot near a thermostat that he messed up. DOES NOT STAND BEHIND HIS WORK. DO NOT HIRE

Selected Rock River based on 5 stars reviews. Job: bedroom 15x20 walls, ceiling and trim. Job took 3 hours. We did have further texts regarding pricing and his non/professional attitude. When a review was mentioned, his attitude switched to begging me not to write a negative review stating it?s a small business shouldn?t be penalized due to buyers remorse, apologized for disappointing me and he?ll use this as a learning experience. Next morning, while in the room noticed a mistake (see photo). Contacted John with photo asking how he will rectify. No reply, nothing not very professional. My opinion is he?s a scammer with an arrogant attitude and does a half ***** job. $185 paint $675 labor for 3 hours (including error) BBB next?

John was so easy to work with. Kept us informed. He did an amazing job. I would totally recommend him to others. Our walls look awesome.

The project was completed but not to my satisfaction. I have had no follow up from the contractor. & several issues need to be fixed. I will not recommend nor hire again based on this project.

Jon and his team of workers completely remodeled our main living area, kitchen, and parts of our bedrooms. The quality of work done for us was exceptional and it was completed In a timely manner. Jon and his workers are very friendly and easy to work with. Our home turned out amazing and better than what we ever could have expected.

Look no further, you have found your home make over expert! I hired Rock River Contracting to paint and repair my Father's 50+ year old home. As you can guess it was a big project. John and his Rock River Team are talented, respectful and professional. Each team member had unique talents, one of which designed and built customized shelving for our pantry. John took his time to listen to our vision, and gave us honest and affordable feedback. We could not be happier with the outcome, our home has been transformed from 1970's yuck, to 2023 wonderful.

Job was scheduled quickly. Work crew was pleasant to work with. Asking questions before moving forward.

Had rock river contracting extend my concrete patio. John was very professional and had the slab laid within a week of signing the contract. John has been very responsive with questions and his work is top quality. Looking forward to future projects with his company.

Friendly, enthusiastic and competent contractor. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Renovation of entire main floor, major drywall repair, paint all walls, ceiling, kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanity, trim and looks phenomenal! Custom decorative moldings in kitchen, installed and finished all the interior doors including replacing framing to do it RIGHT! Upgrades to kitchen doors like self close anti-slam hinges and decorative hardware. Move electrical, add electrical, install all new lighting options and fixtures. Looks amazing, couldn't be happier about finding someone who was able confidently tackle this large project with such a fantastic outcome. More than accommodating and great attention to detail. 5 stars doesn't do justice. I want to give an extra star for the service I received! See you in a few weeks when I'm ready for the backsplash!

John and his team were absolutely exceptional! If I could give more STARS I would! I am so so thankful I came across his company because our house turned out absolutely amazing. I mean the transformation was breath taking. We had just recently bought our home, but it definitely needed some TLC, along with new updates, such as all new window trim, baseboard trim and every room needed fresh paint. We certainly didnâ t give John an easy project as we wanted all our wood doors, and windows painted as well. Not to mention, multiple carpentry projects that came up along the way that John was so flexible and willing to tackle to make us happy. We originally had hired someone to install all new LVP in the entire home, but it wasnâ t installed right and seriously was a nightmare, but John came in and fixed that problem too and we are beyond grateful. We all know living in a house during any renovation- especially with two kids isnâ t enjoyable or easy, but I honestly can tell you that John was so down to earth to work with that he made it fun and enjoyable! John and his team always cleaned up after each day and made sure everything was put away nicely, so our kids wouldnâ t get hurt or get into anything. John and his team were so courteous with all our stuff and made sure everything was covered accordingly. We had endless amounts of damage on the wall from stripping wall paper to massive holes in the walls and John meticulously fixed it all!!! I mean it literally looks like a new house. If you are looking for a painter/carpenter- LOOK NO FURTHER! John certainly takes pride in his work and his ultimate goal was to make us happy and he sure accomplished that and more! I typically donâ t write reviews because life sometimes just gets too busy, but I felt I had to because of how happy I was with Johnâ s work. I hope this review can alleviate some of the stress from the difficult decisions that comes with finding someone incredibly talented and who you can trust. John will go above and beyond with any project you give him!!

John came highly recommended from my neighbor. I contacted John when I needed some painting done in my basement. He was extremely responsive and came over within a day or two to give me an estimate. He was extremely personable and really attentive when listening to my ideas for the project. He provided me a physical estimate within hours of visiting my home. This was especially helpful as I was working with my homeowners insurance adjuster. John continued to communicate with me regularly leading up to the day the work was completed. While he was here painting, he was extremely courteous and willing to go the extra mile. Our family had recently went through something tragic and I'd note he and his partner were empathetic to what our family was experiencing. John also helped me with some mini-projects in my kitchen. One of them turned into a bit of a bigger project than we originally anticipated. He was generous with his time & talents. I highly recommend Rock River Contracting! I will be calling John again soon. :)

John was professional, friendly and very informative about the job he was going to do for me. He painted walls, ceilings, cabinets and crown molding in my living room, kitchen and hallway. The job was neatly done, extremely professional looking and he respected my home by leaving it clean when he left. I am very happy with the results. I have a professional, clean new feel to my home.
