Rockwood Construction did an amazing job remodeling our bathroom and adding a bathroom on our second floor. They were professional and kept their promises throughout the whole project. I would strongly recommend them over and over again. I will definitely be using them for all our future projects.

The builder is very experienced, does a great job for a fair price. The job was done on time. They were friendly and helpful every step of the way.

I want to start my review by taking a little responsibility. This was the first time I had hired a contractor to do this kind of work (I had previously hired a company through HomeAdvisor to install new garage door openers and was very pleased). Now I see that from the very beginning there were warning signs and I just ignored them. Hindsight is 20/20. However, I was smart enough to keep a record of all emails and text messages of conversations, as well as a record of when workers were at my house and what they were doing, so I could write a detailed review and hopefully prevent others from making the same mistake. This is a long review. For those of you who do not want to read it in its entirety, I can summarize: 1. Poor organizational and communication skills, even his own subcontractor said this. 2. Subcontractors not showing up when scheduled, or showing up when not scheduled. 3. Messy, subcontractors did not clean up after themselves. 4. Vague contract, refused to be more specific, then argued about the work and price. 5. Never bothered to come inspect the completed project. The first day, Bob spent almost an hour at my house and we talked about the project and I also asked him questions about other projects I was considering. When he sent me the estimate, it consisted of 5 vague sentences about the work and a price. I replied and asked him if he would break it down and tell me exactly what he was doing and what it would cost. He did assign a price to each of the vague statements, but did not add more detail. He did not mention a payment schedule until 8pm the day before the work was supposed to begin. At that time I asked him about a contract, and again asked him to be more specific about the work and the price. He assured me that he has been in business for over 25 years and this is how its done. He said the price is the price and it would not change unless we discussed him doing more/less work and any materials I bought myself would be subtracted from the price. He sent me the contract about 2 hours before he was supposed to arrive. Again, it consisted of 5 vague sentences and I expressed concern. He assured me this is how it is done and that it protected both of us. Throughout the project I would ask him or the subcontractors about when certain things would get done. He would say things like You didnt tell me you wanted that done, or I wasnt planning on doing that. In the end, things I had asked him to do did not get done, and he added cost for things he claimed I never told him I wanted him to do. One of the biggest obstacles for the project as my work schedule. I work nights and therefore I sleep during the day. I told Bob this from day 1, and he assured me that they would work around my schedule. I even took a week off from work. I was very specific with him about what days and times people could be at my home. There were times when he told me people were coming and they never showed up. Other times when I had spe
Response from Rockwood Construction, LLC
"I'm sorry you were not happy with the work we did. I believe we treated you the same as everyone else I have worked for. If you wanted things done that were not in the contract I would have put them in it and adjusted the price before we started but you waited till we were under way to mention things you expected that were not in the contract.I rushed to start work during the vacation you had planned already and then you changed to tile in the entire work area which ate up most of the week. From my other reviews you can see my subcontractors are very proffesional. We did far more work then was agreed to for you for free."
