How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because I started doing tile in high school for my step dad instead of flipping burgers. After high school I went to work for cristobal construction which was a general contracting firm. I worked there for five years learning all aspects of construction from concrete,framing, to finish carpentry. When I left there I went to work for western states water proofing doing joint sealants, below grade water proofing, and polished concrete floors. In 2004 I ended up coming back to the tile trade going to work for clasique tile in boise. It was in that time I decide to start my own business and officially opened rocky bar tile & home remodeling. Within the first year of business I was the main installers for tile outlet and precision countertops. It got to the point where precision countertops offered me a full sub contract position to do exclusively there work. From 2008-2020 I was the lead stone countertop and tile installer for them doing any where from 100-200 sqft of countertops a day. .

We started in this industry in 1992.

They went above and beyond to repair our shower, we couldn't be any happier on how it turned out. It was well worth the wait to have our repair done right! Chad did more than I expected. I actually cried (tears of Joy) when I saw how he had done my kitchen backsplash. It was more than beautiful!!! He is a professional's professional!!! (He could teach others a lot.) I tried to find out if he did anything else besides tile because I liked his work so much. He fit my project into his schedule within zero days. Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
