Major Renovation Multiple Room Service

Roe Gordon Construction just finished a large Renovation/remodel on my home. The work included a bump out (adding seven feet on an outside wall) to my dining area and added a concrete patio with a roof to match my house, removing walls and changing fireplace location, thus enlarging my living room by double. When the work was started, concrete was poured and his crews (sub-contractors) were fast and thorough, completing their phase in minimum time. Every one of my changes and additions were met head-on and with a smile because there are decades of experience and expertise in Mr. Gordon and his crews. The framing, drywall, brickwork, tile and painting sub-contractors were timely and efficient, doing a beautiful job. I am so very happy to be enjoying my home. Well done! This project was completed in June 2018. One final note: Mr. Gordon, out of the goodness of his heart, personally helped me with things I needed to fix/install that were not a part of our contract. (I am up in years, and that was an enormous help.)

Roe Gordon is not the first contractor I have hired but he is the best I've hired. People tell me that I have structural engineering in my blood because I build everything to last forever. When the city inspector told me that Roe built everything above code and his work is of very high standard, it was no surprise to me, I am a proud owner of his work. I am a realist, I know when one ventures on a project as large as ours (added an oversized double garage and large storage building which tastefully matches it and the house), it takes a little bit of time, lots of experience from a contractor, especially if you live in a historic neighborhood like we do, and continuous hard work. If Roe Gordon can meet my standards, which are very high, then those who know and trust me personally rest assured that he will do a great job for them. What I value most, integrity and quality. I am a hard person to please regarding both points but he did, he went above and beyond, otherwise, I would have been brutally just as honest and given a bad review. Roe Gordon exceeded my high expectations and he has earned all of the referrals I intend to send him.
Response from Roe Gordon Construction
"I can safely say that this client was one of the most demanding home owners that I have ever had the privilege of working for and I respect that about her. Virginia knew what she wanted and how she wanted it done ,and I am so happy that my subcontractors and I was able to accommodate her. It was a pleasure Virginia...and if you ever need anymore work done on your home... all you have to do is call 817-9070930. Buds for Life!"

The company stopped work after they had completed about 80% of the work, then when we provided a punch list continued to argue about items on the list for 70+ days because they had other projects. We terminated the contract.

They sent me pics through each step of the process so that I knew once the repair was done it was good all the way through and not just cosmetic.

Major Renovation Multiple Room Service
I first met Roe Gordon 10 years ago when he was putting on an addition to my parent's house. Recently, my wife and I bought a fixer upper and my parents suggested we hire Mr. Gordon. I am sure glad we did. He did a complete renovation on our home and it couldn't have gone any smoother. The way Mr. Gordon maneuvered his subcontractors through all the different phases of the project was nothing less than amazing. The job was finished on time for Christmas and on budget, except for a few upgrades my wife and I added. We highly recommend Roe Gordon Construction for your next home project.

I hired Roe to repair and replace my roof and some rafters due to a 40 foot tree falling on my roof. Roe was quick to respond to my request for quote. He worked within my allocated insurance budget and was able to add some additional services. He increased the quality of single that insurance spec'd. He painted all my trim and replaced all my gutters. The house looks updated and marvelous! He found problems with some facits I hadn't noticed before and re-worked them as well. Great work. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him for additional remodeling work.

I hired Roe Gordon Construction to do some exterior and interior work on a home in Dallas! I mainly focused on the interior! we moved some walls and made an existing garage into a great room! It was a wonderful addition to the home!!! Roe met with us on time and gave us a very detailed scope of work and proposal. He was great to work with and friendly. He started on the day he promised and completed the work on time with no issues! I am an interior designer and I have HUGE expectations when it comes to the "finish out" I was so pleased with his craftsmanship that I have used RGC 2 times since for other clients! I highly recommend RGC!

Just wanted everyone to be aware of this company so that what happened to me wont have to happen to anyone else. Spent around 38k for work to be done on my house only to have a fraction of the project complete after being told to pay more money, after refusing to until he could have proved where my money went for what was already paid and being denied that priveledge of being the homeowner and the person who hired him, mr. roe gordon threatened to have a liens put on my home by him and his subcontractors. got to the point i had to go down to the city myself and fire him and cancel the permits and have to find another contractor to finish the job. please do not fall victim

I gave this contractor money in May 2017 to start plans on a remodel above our garage. It is now October and he still hasn't started. Took almost 3 months to get a correctly drawn elevation needed for HOA approval in months . He messed up engineering plans and then tried to charge me another 1500.00 for another engineer due to his first mistake. Got mad when I wouldn't agree with new engineer support design that would have put a 24 foot long by 14 inch tall by 4 inch wide beam hanging down in my garage as a fix for his original mistake that would in part of my garage incredibly ugly. He did say it would save him money. I made a very simple suggestion that any contractor should have been able to know to do and the engineer was happy to sign off on. Would hide the beam and not destroy the look of the inside of my garage. He had already approved the wrong plans for the addition without my knowledge, said he made 10 copies for all his sub contractors and got mad when I asked for them to be corrected. He had approved added features to the roof we never discussed, I had never seen or approved and even drew the elevation lines wrong on those drawings. Said he is a builder, not a designer. He had promised to use and architect, charged me 1,000 dollars for it but couldn't get either of two architects to complete the job. He asked me to talk to one of the architects to see if I could get him to release the plans but the architect said no because Roe was trying to get him to do it for $600 after he had already been told it would be $1800. After getting HOA approval within a week of approved elevation drawing, I made an additional deposit for the job. They told me they needed to order materials quickly because of the Hurricane and potential cost increases. Only after I made the additional deposit, I am informed that to move forward, I would have to sign additional contracts with his sub-contractors. This was a huge surprise as I was never told about this until after the large deposit 3 months into this; is not normal to do and then he refused to do the work until signed. Needless to say, it appeared that he knew he was going to do this, and only waited until he had $22K + of my money. He was trying to force me into signing these contracts that was not provided for in our contract. He then signed up a contractor he said requires a $1500 retainer to do the work, but that they had to have a sub contractor contract signed. Roe Gordon knew I wan't going to sign one already and committed those funds knowing that. He said later they are not refundable. After being told they have no contractors on October 2nd, then Roe texts and says he is ready to do the job, but that his framers, sheet rockers and unlicensed subs will not have insurance. I refused to let him use those people since he had already told me that he requires all his subs to carry insurance. I am not going to be on the hook if they make a mistake or fall. I tried to get a
