Roman's Landscaping

Review: Romans is a quality business run by a quality person. Roman is a personable guy who is up front and knows his trade. He recommended plants that would cover a large backyard slope of 3000 sq. ft. He also completely redid the irrigation system with up-to-date Hunter units for the slope and drip for the plants at the top. His team were very courteous. His team, led by Roman, worked very hard to clear off the old dead foliage and haul it away. After putting down seed killer to stop weed growth and protect existing trees and shrubs (there are very mature pines and several shrubs on the slope)the slope was soaked by new irrigation system that worked great. After letting the seed killer do its job a huge amount of plants arrived and planting started. Again he and his team did the job efficiently and was done in 2+ days. It all looks great and all is thriving. I strongly recommend Romans Landscaping. His estimate and terms were right on. Only 1 minor change to add the drip system, but only the cost of the material was added. His vision of my job became a reality and finally our slope will look great!

Roman and his crew always showed up, cleaned up and were most pleasant. They installed automatic sprinklers, dug up many tree roots, installed sod, planted a wall of bamboo and roses. We are thrilled with the results. Thank you Roman for a job well done!

I wanted to remove and replace all the drip irrigation which was constantly breaking and costing me money to replace. The front and back yards had different issues which Roman solved quickly and efficiently. My yards now have permanent hard pipe with strong heads, properly placed to water the plants while saving water. The crew was efficient, immaculate and caused no damage. There was no noise, debris and they left nothing for me to clean afterward. The entire job was completed in two days. Roman came by multiple times to deliver supplies, check progress and make changes as needed. He re- wired the clock, working with me until every line and station had run properly with the correct minutes for each station. He came by afterward to add one line. I've already referred him to a friend. His price was very fair and the work exemplary.

Professional, extremely hardworking, and helpful. Also, Roman's Landscaping offered the best price for the highest quality product available (absolutely realistic looking/feeling artificial turf with an 18-year non-prorated guarantee. (Word to the wise: be sure to get a written guarantee on your turf and make sure it's non-prorated. By comparison, a prorated guarantee means the replacement value of your product diminishes over time and several years into the warranty could be near worthless.) But back to the crew: a seemingly small but significant example of the crew's professionalism was shown when my young daughter and her friend wanted to swim near the area the turf was being installed. They were on a break, and without being asked, they all moved to the front yard, giving the girls privacy and making me more comfortable while I was supervising them. The only reason I did not give 5 stars: my husband and I paid for purchase and installation of 950 sq. ft. of turf. For whatever reason, only 850 sq.ft. was ordered (I called the wholesaler to check). When I pointed this out, the owner of the landscape company at first said that he had provided the balance of 100 sq. ft. from some of his own stock. Not true. Wisely, the owner decided it was in his best interest to give us a refund, and he did this promptly. Lesson: always check with the wholesaler to make sure you're getting what you are being charged for. Not to mention the labor you are being charged for the installation. (Generally speaking, make sure you get proof of payment, not only for materials but to any subcontractors hired by any contractor you hire. If you fail to do so, and the contractor does not pay someone, you could be slapped with a lien on your house. Unbelievable but true. Go to the California State Contractors State Licensing Board's website and make sure you're absolutely clear in your understanding of this. While you're there make sure you make sure the contractor's license is in good standing. You can also see if there are any pending actions against the company. You may be shocked at what you find, and you'll save yourself a lot of grief by avoiding such a contractor.) Overall, a great experience. Laborers don't make a lot of money. Since this crew did such a terrific job, I tipped the crew leader $20 and each of the other guys $10 each as a small thank you.

Roman did exactly what we wanted in a timely manner for a price that was within our budget. He installed a beautiful lawn with automatic sprinklers and large and small rocks to accent the yard. We are very happy with our new back yard. I would highly recommend Roman.

We hired Roman to upgrade a sprinkler system in our large yard. He listened to what we wanted, quoted us a good price, and did great quality work in the time he said he would. Roman is a seasoned landscaper with wonderful advice and attention to detail. He turned our drab, dead front yard into a gorgeous, colorful landscape. I think ours is the best in the neighborhood now! His genuine interest in our project made a big difference and I highly recommend him.

He was on time, did the work and I am very happy with the outcome!

Roman's a great guy as are all his workers. His prices are really really good. My only complaint is he wasn't around much and that meant that a number of things were done wrong and had to be redone. It also meant that I had to spend A LOT more time supervising the job myself, which wasn't ideal. But the work turned out great in the end and I'm sure it would have been at least 50% more expensive with anyone else. There were a few niggling things that never got finished correctly but he also fixed a sprinkler head leak while I was away (that had nothing to do with the job he was doing for me) so I guess it all evened out in the end.

We hired Roman's Landscaping to help us makeover our backyard. From our first meeting with Roman, he understood exactly what our needs were and what we were looking for. He beautifully transformed a yard of wasted space and dirt into a gorgeous setting for our family. His entire team was professional and hard working. The work they did was above and beyond what we had hoped for. I would definitely use his services again!

Saved me a lot of money by pointing out the problems I would have had with the plants I had selected on my own for the landscaping project. Showed up as scheduled. Good clean-up when finished.
