Deck or Porch
$19,999
The company failed to inform that the design I chose ( from their plans) would not be finished with smooth railing transitions because the Trek is not cut to those specs. My deck has disjointed railings. Prior to starting, I asked the company to wait as I had just broken my back and was bedridden. They refused. I was unable to come outside, therefore, I could not stop the project in time to refine the design. Concrete slabs from the first deck are still littered around my yard; some are in the garden area. One piece of siding is torn off and where the deck meets the house the siding is detached. I have called every other day or two to try and get some answers and a time for the clean up and fixes. I was told nothing could be done about the way the railings turned out. I did not approve the certification of completion. but the finance co. has been paid off before the job is complete. I am extremely disappointed in the companys communications.

Cost too much and they seemed to not to want to do the job because it was too small and in Durham.

I have worked on crafting this review throughout my entire experience with Roofing Exteriors Pro and I hope that it can help others not get treated the way I was. My actual review is well over 3 pages, I had to cut it down for this. I will start with this: the work itself is fine by my estimation as someone who does not do construction work. I am having a friend whoâ s father is a contractor come out to look at everything based on how I was treated to confirm this. I had a front porch, back porch, roof and gutters installed for my home. It was a little under $25k to do this. I do not feel that the work provided was worth the amount I am paying for it combined with the stress and the miscommunication I dealt with through this process. My long winded review to justify this is as follows: Here is where I failed as a client: I did not ask for my estimate to be broken down from construction jargon into plain words. I asked if it had everything I requested (and listed those things) and was assured that it did. I signed the estimate and secured my loan and the work was started. My roof was started and finished with no problems within the week. I waited about a week and a half with no communication before I called to see when the work would be done. Everytime I spoke to someone I would get the equivalent of a verbal shrug as an answer to this question. On Thursday at work I got a call from a family member that someone had cut part of my less than 5 week old lawnmower in half. He has also witnessed one of the workers yank an outlet from the wall and try to wrap the wire back. This knocked out power to some of my appliances and part of the outlets in my house. We were also advised to just â switch the breakersâ to fix the electrical problem ourselves even though I insisted on having someone look at it. I also asked to speak with the owner/management at this point. At this point I was quite finished with the excuses and mishandling and miscommunication and asked multiple times for the owner and/or manager to come out for a final walk through to see what could be done. This was ignored until I refused to release the loan. I did this because, in my experience, once someone is paid in full they do not complete the job requested. It was at this point I finally got one of the owners on the phone. The call was exceedingly unprofessional. I was at work and had told Mylas and the secretary that I preferred to be reached by email. I had to tell him multiple times I could not converse at that second. I even offered to push it off for a week or two or talk to the other owner. I told him that I was spending a large amount of money and, after the poor handling of the project, I just wanted to make sure that everything was finished and communicated. This arrogant man had the actual gall to tell me that he had spent way more money on the project that I had so my feelings didnâ t matter and I needed to release the loan. My sympathy and patience, as one could expect, were now zero. The final walkthrough was a farce. They basically said it was my fault the little things I wanted werenâ t done. In the end they reimbursed me the cost of my damaged mower and took the broken one and gave me $500 for my trouble and tried to make me feel guilty by saying they were writing up the entire staff. This was after saying they had never had complaints like mine before. They blamed the bad communication on the owners being out of the office for 3 days and the fact that it rained. It was excuses on top of excuses without an adequate apology and an insult of $500 as clear hush money. Roofing Exteriors Pro: your service was bad. Your work was unfinished. Your communication was abysmal. You had dishonest business practices and only bothered to listen to me because you knew I wouldnâ t pay you otherwise. Please learn from this and do better by your next customers.
