"This is an unfortunate reflection of our team and we are thankful that you let us know in this capacity. We can always improve! It sounds like we did not communicate clear expectations early enough in the process. Our communication is usually one of the things that sets us apart. From our conversations to what I read, there are some things that aren't accurately portrayed.. 1) We would never have said this would be done in one day. Maybe as early as 3 or 4 depending on how fast the mud dried. 2) A drywall job of this size from hanging to proper finishing would never be a day or two. We also completed this job with 50 sheets of drywall and $1000 less then the other companies. The other companies that you spoke to, told you it would be 70 sheets and a minimum of 9 days to complete. The hanging did take us longer then expected. We had to fix much of the framing you had done yourself and we had shown you personally and discussed this at great length. The seams in the restroom you mentioned goes back to the framing. The adjoining boards you framed are over an least an inch off. We did discuss this and we finished this as close to perfect as possible. We did a lot of mudding to blend the difference as much as possible. As discussed if it was to be fixed properly we would have to pull the green board and fix the framing. There would be an additional cost to fix more framing but that was a route you were not interested in taking. In a basement the mud can take longer to dry and it did. The days you mention the finisher only being there for two minutes and then two hours on Sunday was clearly communicated to you on both of those days. The mud still had to set. What is called a 2 hour break on Sunday doesn't mention that we used that time to set up heaters to speed up the drying process. Again basements won't always dry as fast as they might on other floors. When we talked about it you were frustrated. It seemed like you felt that people didn't want to work on a weekend. In our profession a Monday and a Saturday are the same. On a normal floor it can take 2-4 days for the finishing process depending on the scale of work. The day of our final walk through (before we collected a dime for the work) you did point out some areas by the water hose and some small drops of drywall mud that were on your front porch. ( I have pictures of all of this as we photo document everything) I personally cleaned all of the above mentioned including using a scrub brush to remove the spots from the porch on that visit. It was the week before Thanksgiving. You were in the process of completing a 10 year project that you wanted to have finished before your wife came back in to town. There was some stress but at the end of the day we always see things through. You got a beautifully finished basement in the same time line that other companies said was their minimum and it cost $1500 less. I apologize that our timeline was longer then w"
