I wrote in my request for work that it was likely the GFI switch that was causing the disposal to malfunction. This was confirmed by the technician who then said that they could not replace or fix the problem. Ultimately offered a temporary solution. Customer service and communication were excellent though.

I had a kitchen faucet removed and replaced with one that I had purchased. Work was done and done well but to the tune of over $400. Unfortunately due to the time crunch I had to authorize the work, but a total rip off for such a small job. Will not use Russo Bro again due to high cost for small project.
Response by Russo Bros. & Co.: Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback. From time to time we hear people mention they think we are expensive. We believe if you compare our business to similar size competitors that are prices are in line with the market place. We have been in business for over 60 years with a fully staffed office that answers your phone call and gives you a custom appointment window which minimizes your wait time for a technician. Our technicians drive fully stocked trucks so most repairs can be made on the first trip; again saving you time and money from having to make a second appointment and possible take time off from work. These differences from the average service company influence the price we need to charge in order to remain in business to service our clients as well as take care of our employees who are our most important asset.

Went through troubleshooting all potential reasons for a possible leak with me. After I asked him to open up the ceiling and we ran all water it looked like the issue we had was not plumbing related but potentially a portable humidifier leak coinciding with a backup shower being used. Was great to have the peace of mind that we would not have any major water damage with a plumbing leak. Plumber also answered multiple questions I had which was greatly appreciated.

Review by Phil M. in Denville, NJ
Had technicians from Russo in my house on 3 separate occasions. The house we purchased had an on demand propane water heater that was not working. Tech fixed the heater and gave us a quote for replacing and/or updating the valves for our laundry unit. Heater failed again 2 days later. Another technician, Joe ,came out to fix it while I was at work. My wife and her elderly parents were present. Joe told my wife the on demand system was in such bad shape he should replace it immediately or we would risk carbon monoxide posioning. He also told my wife he was unable to upgrade the valves, the cheaper of the two options, and would have to install all new valves (approx $470). He fixed the pilot on the on demand water heater and gave my father in law a quote of replacing the unit for almost $2000. Needless to say I had another plumber replace the water heater for almost 1/2 the quoted amount. On top of it, Joe left the old valves in the wall when he put the new ones in. I called Russo to report this and tell them water leaks on our floor every time we run the washer. Joe came back and stated it was not in the scope of the original job and we would have to pay another $100 to cap it or $400 to remove the old valves. Will never use this company again and urge others to avoid them as well.
Response by Russo Bros. & Co.: The first time we worked at (consumer name withheld per their request) home (5/26/17) was for no hot water on his tankless, propane water heater. Our technician diagnosed the problem and found that the pilot light was out due to the pilot tube being clogged. The technician then cleared the clog and was able to get the unit to run. Upon further diagnosis the technician noticed that the tankless water heater as well as another appliance was venting into the chimney. According to the manufacturer of the water heater this is not an approved method for venting. The manufacturer explained that as a direct result of this incorrect venting it is possible that carbon monoxide can be released into the home. Based on the results of the technician?s findings, the age of the unit (14 years old), and the fact that the client is changing over from propane to natural gas; we recommended the unit be replaced with a new tankless water heater that would be properly installed and inspected by the town. The client declined this work. We returned again on 6/2/17 for a no hot water call. The pilot was out once again and we informed the client again that the water heater was having venting problems due to the improper installation. While onsite we replaced the client?s existing leaky emergency shut off valves for the washing machine and supplied and installed new valves. On 6/21/17 we received a service request that the emergency valves we installed for the washing machine were leaking. The technician notified the client that it was not the new valves that were leaking. However the client had two old, disconnected shut off valves in the laundry area that had been previously connected to a laundry sink that existed at one time. We recommended replacement of the valves or in the case of the client not planning to reinstall the laundry sink we offered to open the wall in order to cut and cap the water lines. The client declined this work. We employ highly skilled and trained technicians that look at the entire job and will bring to attention any safety concerns and recommendations to correct these issues. After the technician makes his professional suggestions it is the homeowner?s ultimate decision to move forward with our recommendations or to seek other opinions.
