We have since hired him for two more jobs: pouring a concrete driveway extension for RV parking, and replacing some siding and painting the entire exterior of the house. We hired Josh to remove the old and install a new shower in the Master Bedroom. Along with this he installed new fixtures, new toilets, both in the master and common bathroom and a new exhaust fan in the ceiling in the master bath. We had water damage due to a roof leak and we had a new roof installed recently. The bathroom had black mold, water damage in the ceiling, wall and floor. Josh came in an opened up everything and repaired all damage. He then installed new flooring, a new toilet, removed 60-year-old cabinets, installed a new vanity, tri-view medicine cabinet, light fixture and door. He was timely, prepared and worked hard every day and kept us informed daily since this was a time and materials job. His price to do all of this was less than other quotes we had received just to repair the damage and new flooring. I will use Josh for anything that he is willing to do around my house. We hired Josh Rutledge after having an awful experience with a different contractor. When we hired Josh, we were apprehensive after our previous experience with the other company. Through the course of our job, Josh completely restored our faith in his profession. He is beyond competent, and he takes great pride in the quality and consistency of his work. He totally blew our minds, and our house looks beautiful! He fixed all of the mistakes that were left by the previous contractor, and when he found mistakes that we didn't even know about he fixed those too! He's an all around nice guy, and pleasant to be around as he's got a very calm and friendly demeanor. We have already recommended Josh to friends and neighbors, and we will definitely use him for future projects! I only hope that we can book him, the quality of his work and his professionalism are surely going to keep him busy with all of the referrals he is going to be getting! We hired Rutledge Construction to fix some major weatherproofing issues and replace the vinyl siding on our row house as the result of a successful lawsuit against the original builder. We were extremely delighted with the results of the work that Josh and his crew performed. He kept me informed of what he found and repaired at every stage of the project, created an extensive picture log of his findings and repair work, and completed a quality job for a very reasonable price and time compared to some of the other similar repair jobs done in this building. His customer service skills were outstanding, and I plan hire him again to do the garage as soon as his schedule permits. Outstanding work!

Joshua took my call the first time, scheduled the appointment, was on time for the appointment, he was prepared to do the work we discussed with all the materials and tools necessary. Joshua was knowledgeable, and professional. First rate job!

This was the second job I had Joshua do. I had some mold problems in the bathroom due to inadequate ventilation. With Joshua's recommendation, he removed the old undersized fan, which was also in poor location. The new fan is quieter and is removing the air more quickly, he also updated the switch and outlet to a GFCI. The finish work on the sheet rock is very good and I am happy with the quality. Joshua was able to get the work done quickly. The only area I rated him down was that the job went over the original estimate.

Very happy with the final results. Joshua first had to come in and determine the source for a leak that had damaged my downstairs wall. Fortunately it was not the roof, but a simple leak from the upstairs shower. He accessed the plumbing from the least invasive location then brought in a plumber and drywall repairman as well. I was not inconvenienced at all, and the entire project was complete including drying the damp wall interior around the pipes, within about two weeks. I also got a new kitchen faucet installed with new sink pipes and caulking just for good measure. His quote was right on what he had originally given me.

Joshua was one of many contractors to come out and give us a bid once I discovered the sill plate and joists and some subfloor on the north side of my house was rotted out from moisture and powderpost beetles. His bid was not the cheapest but he gave me the most extensive and comprehensive explanation of what was going on and how to repair it. It was by far the most thorough bid and included more work then the other bids I received. Most importantly Joshua came across as very professional and honest. The work was completed as described plus a little more as he discovered slightly more rot once the bottom of the siding come off. Joshua did all the work himself and was very courteous and professional throughout the week + it took to complete the job. He had excellent communication throughout the project and would always leave the workspace clean at the end of each day. I will be hiring Joshua again for any projects bigger then I what I could do myself.

We needed to replace an existing wooden gate across a concrete drive that extends up the side of the house (but really isn't big enough for a car.) I actually called on around 7 companies prior to finding Rutledge Construction. Most didn't want my job because it was too small or they wanted to charge me a small fortune to do it. When I called Joshua he agreed do our job for a reasonable hourly rate. We tore out the old gate ourselves and purchased the fencing materials & gate hardware. At first because the job was small we thought that he could fit me in between his larger jobs. That didn't work out so we set a firm date (I would recommend this based on his great reviews and how popular he seems to be.) He showed up at 8 am and worked straight through till 3 pm. I don't think he took a break at all during that time. The fence & gate he built for us is well constructed (We replaced a fully opening 11 foot space with a stationary fence with a 3 foot man gate in the middle on a small slope). He left the worksite very clean. I'm happy he was willing to work with us & very pleased with the end result. I would recommend Rutlege Construction to others.

Josh Rutledge is skilled in all types of work that my project required.I needed cement work, siding repair, exterior painting, replacing a rotten outlook beam, and sheet rock repair and painting. He has a strong work ethic, is easy to work with and honest, and pays attention to detail. He uses high quality products and does beautiful work. I will always try to get him to do any other work needed on my home, and highly recommend him to others.

Josh Rutledge promised and delivered high quality work installing Z-style flashing on about 30 locations for residential windows and doors, identified and replaced deteriorated wood frame sections, repaired a door jamb damaged by weather and installed 2 high quality Andersen storm doors. Impressively, he maintained regular and complete communications with us during this project and met each and every milestone that we jointly established. He is an exceptional and highly professional contractor who delivered the highest work that met his meticulous personal standards. I am a retired naval officer and he impressed me with his dedication and quality of work. Five stars!!!
