Do not hire this guy. We hired him for a drainage system and the week we started is when everything went down hill. He comes of nice, but he takes your money, does NOT finish the job, he will take your money and run. Not to mention he is a felon: (link removed) (just look it up). Will be taking him to small claims court and I encourage everyone else to do this same as this is what this guy does. It's his entire job; he set's up businesses - gives quotes, takes the first payment does half of the job and takes off.

I hired Kevin Mattina to help fix my sprinkler system and lay sod at my rental property. I told him I was in need of help ASAP as I was trying to list the property for sale by the end of the month. It started off okay, then Kevin would say his team was coming to the home to fix the sprinkler system and would never show up. I would touch base with Kevin, and we would have to keep rescheduling to a later date, making everything take much longer than what he initially promised me. He fixed two valves and two leaks and replaced sprinkler heads for a total of 731.00, and yet still never measured the area I needed to lay the sod. He finally got back to me and informed me the sod would be $2475+$750 to complete the work, and he requested that I pay it upfront. I told him I was uncomfortable paying everything upfront but would provide half the cost now, and the other half once the work was complete. He immediately told me I was a Red Flag and doesn't deal with people like me. He told me he would invoice me the $731.00 as he had just finished replacing the sprinkler heads that day, and our work would be done. I received the invoice that night at 7:34pm for $731.00 and informed him I did not like how he was talking to me as he was disrespectful and that I will get the check in the mail to him immediately the next morning. That was the last I heard from Kevin M. until I received an email at 1:00pm the next day stating he put a lien on my home. I emailed him multiple times asking why he did this as I told him I was mailing him a check. I only received my invoice less than 24hrs the day before. I tried calling him about payment leaving voicemails and sending emails. He still has not responded to me. Now, I am left with a mess from this horrible person who put a Lien on my home after I told him I would send payment the next day. He knew I was trying to sell my home, and now that he put a Lien on my home, I am unable to until it's completely off, leaving me no choice but to seek a lawyer. I would never hire this man, he will make your life a living nightmare.

I hired Mr. Kevin Mattina to perform multiple tasks to grade my yard, transplant several shrubs, create two islands, and lay pine straws in flower beds. The quote I received was for $4,970.00 with a one-week time frame. Mr. Mattina requested 50% upfront - DO NOT DO THIS - and I gave him a check for $2,500.00. After over three weeks with little to nothing to show for the money and poor communication from Mr. Mattina at best - does not answer texts, does not show up or contact with updates, etc. - I fired Mr. Mattina. I received a refund for $1,070.00 leaving Mr. Mattina $1,430.00 for what he claims was 10 hours of work and a tiller rental. That equates to paying his two employees $123.00 per hour with a tiller rental cost of $200.00 (the average cost to rent a tiller for half a day is around $55.00 so being extremely generous with a tiller rental cost). Mr. Mattina is a con man, a liar, and a thief. I am working with the Department of Agriculture and the Bay County Small Claims Court system to challenge Mr. Mattinas shady business practices which are evident in the multiple negative reviews you will find on websites such as HomeAdvisor, BBB, etc. DO NOT fall for Mr. Mattinas lying charmed and avoid him or you may be filling out one of these reviews like I am and so many others have before me.

Gave them a deposit but they Took forever to get started, They finally showed up. When the dirt showed up it was delivered nobody was here they end up dumping it in the middle of my sidewalk in the neighborhood which calls the neighbors to be real irritated about eggs edit about access to the site walks. It took a few days of promises that someone was coming before someone actually showed up and only did a 1/2 of day of work. They rent it a tractor which set for an whole day not doing nothing. At work. At 1 time I asked to give me the key so I could finish up the job. The people came the next day to pick up the tractor up the tractor since it was never used. The owner is very hard to get in contact with never ever sticks to his word when its time to meet with him he avoids you. I will say if you would hear this person good luck it would never get done. When we finally was able to get him to come by we fired him art him and he still try to charge us a crazy price for work that was never finished. I have learned from this company to do a thorough review on anybody else that I use. I am a very unsatisfied person with this company and I beg that no one else uses them. They should not even have a business the way it is run.

We are having the same issue as the last review. Paid him half the money over a month ago. Not seen him since. At first he would reply that the rain put them behind, then the plants had not arrived, then apparently they did but the lady where he said he ordered the plants from has covid so unable to get, would give me days they would be here but not show up even though he said he has 4 guys out working. the responses back trickled in and last response 4 days ago was simply I was sick. No response by email, call or text. Kevin was very nice when I met him. I have no idea why he dropped the ball but we need our money back or come do the landscaping. I would love to give a good review if he would.

This guy took half of the money. Took grass out of the yard and did not finish the job. Has not come back. This is no way to run a business. I would not recommend anyone to use his services. He will not answer his phone or return your calls. Kept on pushing date back.

Hired them to do my sod installation and sprinkler system. they did everything that was promised. at one point it was a lot of rains and we got behind the schedule a bit,but its understandable.Kevin always pick up the phone and good customer service.They are very knowledgeable about sprinkler system and will make it work before they ask you to spend more and try to add extra zones like other companies did in my case.they dont overcharge you,but if they have to do anything extra than you will be charged reasonable amount of money. they give warranty for the work. Very positive experience.

When we started looking for a company to install irrigation for our yard, I thought it was going to be a nightmare. I have had horrible luck finding any company that first, responds, then keeps their word, and completes the job. I called 5 companies to get quotes, only 3 called me back. Out of those 3, only 2 showed to provide estimates and ONLY Simpli Tha Best actually sent the estimate after the meeting. Since I was still patiently waiting for the other quote and we were closing on our house, we didnâ t communicate with this company and after a week or so, Kevin called to FOLLOW UP. I explained we were refinancing our house and waiting but that that follow up call sealed the deal. Honestly, I was a little nervous since I really wasnâ t given a choice since no other companies responded. But Iâ m so glad I didnâ t have a choice. Kevin was so easy to get ahold of, responded to all my millions of questions, got the job done as soon as the rain quit and it works perfectly. I was seriously flabbergasted by how quickly he was to respond. His guys were respectful and knowledgeable. So excited to have our whole yard irrigation and well. But seriously can not express in words how great it was to finally have a company that felt like they appreciated my business and was always on top of everything. We have dealt with a lot of contractors in the past before and after the hurricane and I wish they all ran like this company. From beginning to end, the whole project was easy.

Hired Kevin and his team to redo my front yard, remove rock, reconfigure beds, kill grass on 1 side of the house, and lay fresh sod, plant flower beds lay mulch and minor fix of irrigation. This project was to start on May 25th. One thing I asked Kevin before I hired him was. When you start the job, do you stay on the job until it is finished? Kevin assured me that yes he does. That was one of the reasons I hired them. Kevin required half down to start the project. I get that, need to get materials, etc. Boy, Kevin sure was quick to pick up his check. The project did not start until 2 weeks later after constant text messages and phone calls. Finally, a guy was dropped off with a shovel and rack to start removing all the present landscape rock that I wanted to be removed. Hotter than blazes, 1 bottle of water. After watching him a bit, several hours had gone by, still no help. I could see he was getting very frustrated. I felt sorry for him so I stepped out to see if any others would be joining him. He said yes, they should become. I also asked him how long has he been working for the company. He said this is my first day. Now, I really felt bad. To make a long-drawn-out story of numerous text messages and phone calls, and every excuse you can think of why they could not come I finally gave up and fired them. From the end of May to the present, they removed the landscape rock, and ripped up the side yard, and left the debris. They may be put in a total of 1-day work from the end of May to the 1st of August. Not even close to what I paid him for. I asked for half of my $$ back from what I already paid. His text message was I will look into it this weekend. Lol, I knew better. I highly do not recommend Kevin unless you want to be robbed of your money, hear every excuse you can imagine. Kevin showed up on time for to provide an estimate. Was very personable. Ultimately, after numerous delays on the start date of the project, I canceled the work. I was refunded my deposit.

We hired this man to prepare the yard for sod and to install it. We gave him half the cost of the job, $1,165. He sprayed and killed the grass and no sod was installed. After waiting 2 months and numerous calls he had 2 kids come and rake the dirt. That was it and we finally fired him and hired someone else at an additional cost of $3800. This man is a crook and should be prosecuted.

We hired this company over a month ago to come in and kill all the grass in our entire yard, grade the ground so water runs away from the home, install a sprinkler system, and then lay sod. So far, we have had the grass killed and cleared and only part of the yard graded. The owner tells us they'll do X on this day and then they don't show up and they don't communicate with us to reschedule until we contact them wanting to know a realistic day of completion. We are still waiting for the job to be completed, and I will resubmit a review at that time.

courteous, on time, quality work at a reasonable price

Kevin showed up on Monday March 1st, and quickly took care of the leak in my irrigation system and added a couple of sprinkler heads and I was very happy. I have not been able to get any landscape/irrigation company to consistently come out to my house, so I was stoked when he assured me, I have now found someone who will return my calls and consistently take care of my irrigation system repairs. Following the first visit on March 1st, on four separate occasions, Kevin told me he would be back at a specific date and time, none of which he showed up for. Each time I contacted him to find out why he did not show. I totally understand his line chaser was out for repair, and he needs that to perform the repairs on my irrigation system. I am okay with things happening that prevent you from coming out, but he never called beforehand to let me know he was going to be unable to make the scheduled appointment, rather just did not call and did not show, leaving me hanging. I have now contacted another company, maybe the will be the one, but I have stopped getting my hopes up where irrigation companies are concerned.
