SJ Stokes Masonry

Had company install retaining wall a few years back. Retaining wall collapsed this past winter (32 foot section of 102 foot wall). Based on quotes to repair, the wall was not installed as per block manufacturers specifications.

WAS TO USE COLOR STUCCO, LEFT ME WITH CEMENT GRAY,MISSED FIXING SECTION OF WALL. CHARGED $900 SPENT ONLY 2HR ON THE JOB ,HELPER DID WORK,STEVE NOT THERE MOST OF TIME. HE DID RESPOND TO MY FIRST CALL SAYING HE WAS IN TEXAS, AND WOULD BE BACK IN 2 WEEKS. MONTHS LATER AND 2ND CALL NO REPLY. WITH ALL THE GOOD REVIEWS HOW IS IT I GET OVER PRICED.INCOMPLETE,CEMENT GRAY JOB,AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I FEEL RIPPED OFF! I WONDER ABOUT THE OTHER REVIEWS.

Replaced some bricks from chimney ground out old mortar tuck pointed joints reset bricks on chimney crown. good work fast service. chimney was in bad shape now looks like new.

I used Stokes Masonry to repair 2 large cracks in my basement�s concrete walls. The cracks were allowing water to literally flood into my basement with each rain and snow storm. Stokes needed to dig a trench around the basement since the cracks were below ground level. The work that was done was to first remove a section of my concrete patio which was above the area they needed to access in order to repair the cracks. Both cracks, inside and out, were repaired and then a waterproofing material was applied to the outside of the concrete walls of the basement. The gentlemen that worked on my project were very polite and courteous. It was a big job that was completed in two days including the repair of the patio. And now after 7 snow storms and countless rains the basement is dry! Not only do I recommend this company but I will be using them again for a new walkway. PJS

Steve Stokes did a great job for us after the first blizzard this year. He left our driveway perfectly clean and put calcium chloride down afterwards. Very thorough and professional. Will use him again.

Very professional, showed up on time and completed the job as expected. I scheduled 5 contractors for estimates. Two didn't show up and two were extremely inexperienced. One of them said to my husband "you can do this yourself" believe me..he tried! Thank goodness for Steven from SJ Stokes!

Very pleased with the work. Neat courteous and proficient. Explained the project entirely. Gave us a good price. We needed our steps repaired. The stone is crab orchard which is a very fragile stone. He is a master craftsman working with this stone. The stoop now has the perfect pitch to prevent puddling. He preserved all the pieces and actually improved the appearance and durability. He replaced the rotting wood above the step with a non-rotting material. Prompt, expert, professional service.

Steven did an outstanding job on our front stoop. He completely replaced the stoop with a rebar reinforced cement landing and then finished it off with cambridge bricks complete with bull-nose steps. Steven started and finished the job as promised. We are very happy with Stokes Masonry.

Liviing in a Home Owners Association complex, it is not always easy to find a good contractor who is willing to provide all the paperwork needed in order to get approval for a renovation. This, however, was a pleasure working with SJ Stokes Masonry. They provided everything needed and the approval came thru in 2 days. The start date was set, weather caused delays and they kept me infomed. they arrived when they said they would, The work was completed when promised and the workers were all professional, efficient, and considerate. The final result exceeded my expectations. Would recomment this company to anyone.
