S.L.S. (Solt Landscaping Service)

James wants to make his money fast and easy. Dont we all... He quoted me for a job close to 11k during a slow time for him. He said it would take a week and a half. Daily he showed up after 11, was on the property about 4 hours max, and only came 3 days a week even in good weather... 4 weeks later he was getting busier and wanted to be done with my place to make more money elsewhere. We already agreed on our price so he seemed to have no problem half-assing the rest of the job with little to no concern for quality or the consideration that he was permanently altering the value of my home to its detriment with his sloppy work. For materials, a lot of what he used appeared to be leftover supply from past jobs; paid for by other clients than paid for again by me. When he did have to buy things new he made totally wacky judgment calls without consulting me for my opinion. I had to hound him and nag to get answers. Emails and texts went essentially unread, ignored, and forgotten. He is disorganized, forgetful, have zero attention to detail, and does almost no preplanning or pre-shopping. Everything is happening on the fly so the homeowner never has a chance to see the plan (not that there is one) or give approval. He is a landscaper but agreed to do some building work for me on a simple screened enclosure that he deemed *out of his comfort zone* only after he effed it all up but offered me no kind of concession for the low-quality work. I appreciate that he tried but... the incompetence was wild; everything crooked, slapped together with random materials, and shanty-like. In the end, I had to dismantle most of what he did and build it myself. My build does not look professional, but it looks 100% better than what he delivered. Even the landscaping he did was rushed and ill-considered. Full sun plants in areas of total shade and from what I can tell he did nothing to break up the soil or amend it, just dumped a tiny bit of topsoil and sparsely added pine needles. I am so very disappointed.

When he first came out he didnt understand the magnitude of the problem. There were some issues with the initial construction of the french drain but James came out immediately and corrected the this. He did a really good job and I appreciate it, it looks fantastic!

SLS did a fantastic job installing a stone paver patio for us. They were punctual and professional and left us with a very attractive outside space. We will definitely use them again for future projects.

I had to make a change in what had to be done. SLS made suggestions and worked with me.

They did an excellent job on a project in our backyard. They communicated extremely well, and worked hard. We would highly recommend their work, and would hire them again!

James and his crew did a good job laying sod in my backyard. Reasonable fair price and showed up when they said they would. Also gave me information and tips what to do with me new yard. Fixed a leak I had for my irrigation system on top of that. Definitely will contact them if I need more work done or if I know someone that does.

What he said he would do was contrary to the work. Diverted from the plan in every aspect. The first rain caused several issues. Puddling/ flooding due to improper sloping/grading, trip hazard on walkway (3 to 4 inch drop off; also sloppy cuts. Dispersing in flower bed causing erosion and a mess vs to the street as planned

I was very happy with their service & when I needed extra work done they were more than happy to do what was asked!

Honest and dependable

James and Steven from Solt Landscaping Service have been mowing, trimming and edging our lawn for the past 6 years. They do an excellent job. Always dependable, reliable and very affordable.

Buyer beware! James was hired to install a 154 ft long; chain link fence on a retaining wall across the back yard. It was a complete failure. Clearly he has no experience installing chain link. I have a video that shows his utter incompetence, and in return all he had was excuses. I gave him an ultimatum to either fix it right, or remove it. He chose the latter. My best advice to anyone in need of fencing help is to avoid this company, and as you read here you will see a history of unprofessionalism. Buyer Beware!

James did a complete overhaul of the grading, drainage and landscaping in our back yard in TR. He also expanded our irrigation system to the back yard. We live out of state, and he more than exceeded our expectations. James communicated, stayed within budget and was honest and dependable. We recommend him and his crew highly to do your landscaping job.

James and his crew worked hard and finished in a timely manner and excellent quality of work. James brought a fresh eye to our project and created a magnificent area in our backyard.

They do a lot of different services. I had them sod my front yard and address some minor drainage issues. They did a great job.

I had an urgent need to fix a drainage problem I had on my flagstone patio. Rental property with a new tenant arriving soon. This could have been a deal breaker. I called James on a Thursday afternoon. He was there late that evening and assessed the job again on Friday. The work was done on that Monday. I was truly amazed and never expected him and his crew to have it done so quickly AND professionally. So happy with his work!
