My wife found SRS Construction on Home Advisor. The ratings are very high, so we contacted the owner, Shane Snyder last spring to construct our garage. Shane came to meet with us the first time in the June '16 timeframe. We explained what we wanted (a barn garage) and Shane assured us he could definitely complete the construction, gave us a price and a contract to sign. Due to his workload, we didn't hear from him for approximately another six weeks to apologize for his workload and for not making contact sooner. Then in August, he contacts us again to let us know he's going to be ready to start our job soon and asked for the first of three draws against the contract. We waited until Mid-October for the foundation work to begin. All the while we are thinking he's busy, so he must do great work. The slab was poured on 18 October with Shane starting construction on 19 October. He and his crew were able to get the plumbing connected to the house, get a wall started and came back the next day to continue. I didn't see much lumber, nor Tyvek or siding, so I asked him what he intended to put outside the OSB. He told me "Tyvek". I said "Ok. What are you intending to put outside the Tyvek. He informed me he didn't know, so I had to remind him of the siding conversations he had with my wife and me. He finally admitted to remembering the discussion, so I asked him who was installing it. He says, "Hopefully not me!" Uhh, that's part of the contract and not negotiable. To our surprise he and his crew left and didn't come back. I contacted him and was told he was out of money. I said we needed to meet and discuss the matter. My wife and I met with him; he explained he didn't realize the concrete and engineering drawings would cost what they did. They are his folks, so I'm dumbfounded as to how he didn't ask them for costs prior to providing us a contract. In the end we gave him draw 2 of 3 to hopefully get the garage built. He and his crew worked for another few days before he and his crew left again. All the while he is cutting corners and violating city codes. When I pointed out these issues he just dismissed me as not knowing what I was talking about. In order to get the job completed I contacted him (again) only to hear him claim he's out of money, again. Against my better judgment we continued to try to work with him because we have a half complete garage. We gave him the final draw. You guessed it...he and his crew walked off the job again. Sorry, three strikes and you are out. We ended up having to contact the city inspector and architectural engineer to come out and find all of the issues so the new crew could make all of the necessary corrections and complete the job; with the mistakes he made, Shane and company left the job a third complete. Shane admitted to severely underbidding the job, but he cost us so much more in time, money to redo what he did wrong, money to buy material that he couldn't buy, and the unfo

I HIRED SHANE TO MAKE A BUILTIN ENTERTAINMENT CENTER FOR OUR NEW HOME IN hARBORWALK. hE CAME OUT AND WE SHOWED HIM THE SPACE AND TOLD HIM WHAT WE WANTED TO DO. hE TOOK HIS MEASUREMENTS DOWN ON A SCRAP PIECE OF PAPER. hE GAVE US A BID. wE OKED THE BID AND HE SAID HE WOULD BUILD CABINETS OFF SITE AND COME BACK TO INSTALL. HE TOLD US IT WOULD ONLY TAKE A COUPLE OF HOURS TO INSTALL AND PAINT. WHEN HE CAME BACK HIS MEASUREMENTS WERE OFF. HE BROKE THE SHEET ROCK ON THE WALL TRYING TO FORCE IT IN. THE CABINET DOOR DID NOT CLOSE PROPERLY. HE ALSO CUT 4 OF THE FLOOR BOARDS ON OUR NEW PORCH WHILE TRYING TO REDO THE CABINET THAT DID NOT FIT. WE HAD 3 PEOPLE IN THE HOUSE THAT SAW HIM CUT BOARDS ON THE FLOOR WITH A SKILL SAW. HE DENIED THIS. HE ALSO TOOK A MOTION SENSOR OFF THE WALL TO GET CABINET IN SPACE. HE NEVER PUT IT BACK. MY WIFE HAD TO COME BACK OUT TO THE HOUST3 MORE TIMES TO GET CABINETS IN. THEY STILL HAVE LARGE GAPS ON THE CABINET DOOR, MOTION SENSOR NOT REINSTALLED AND BOARDS NOT REPLACED.I AM IN THE PROCESS OF TAKING HIM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT. ANOTHER CONTRACTOR CAME OUT AND GAVE US A BID FOR $4700.00 TO REDO THE CABINETS AND FIX THE WALLS. HWE SPENT OVER 20 HOURS TRYING TO FIX WHEN HE SAID IT WOULD ONLY TAKE A COUPLE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM FOR ANYTHING. HE WILL NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS. THATS WHY I AM GOING TO TAKE HIM TO COURT.

Shane ensures that his crew provide EXCELLENT workmanship. He has a really fair price, communicates with homeowner as required and complete work in an efficient and timely manner. One of the very best contractors I've ever hired to do work at my home. Totally trustworthy and honest in all their dealings. I was so happy with them that I re-hired them to paint my home when they finished installing my new deck, and once again I was completely satisfied with their great work and fair price. If you want honest and integrity in a contractor, hire Shane and his team.

Shane and his crew were highly skilled and excelled at translating the customer's vision of the job into a completed reality. Excellent value for the cost, super professional, all members of the team were US citizens so no language problems: that in the past, with other providers, has left me with no recourse when the outcome didn't match my expectations. SRS is my new "go to" company for all future work both exterior an interior. If SRS can't do it, it can't be done. My finished project has prompted strangers to stop and ask who did the building. I recommend Shane Snyder and the SRS team without reservation.

Shane gave us a great bid and then stuck to it! There were quite a few unexpected obstacles along the way, but they always came up with effective ways to handle them. A few things had to be redone but the finished project looks great. Only complaint was not always knowing when they would be at the house. But we worked that out also. All the workers were pleasant and respectful. We'll be using them again for other projects!

SRS was very professional. They took a decorative beam down in the den of my home. They did it in a timely manner, cleaned up and hauled away the remains. I would defiantly recommend this company and have some other things I will be hiring them to do.

Shane was able to get come out fast to replace our front door that was damaged by a burglar. He did an excellent job and charged a fair price, despite knowing I was in a desperate need for help. I would definitely call SRS again for any repair need.

Weather was bad almost daily, so that delayed the project, but it was done as quickly as it could have been.

SRS built us a 3 rail fence backed with wire field fencing. The dogs have tested it thoroughly, and it is dog proof! Very pleased with the work of Shane and his crew and hope to hire them again in the future!
