Dakota Ball with Sailfish Generators was contracted in Nov 2024 to install a Kohler Generator, which he claimed to be a certified Kohler installer. The install was complete Feb 25, 2024 and he was paid. Upon returning home, we found the generator was turned off and there was no sign of it ever being run. Mr Ball was very unresponsive. When he did respond, he would make excuses and false claims. He finally came and looked at it determining it was a bad control panel which may have been damaged by ants (in less than 8 hrs after being tested and didnt explain why it was turned off). He repeatedly failed to produce documentation that he had registered the unit, as stated, and Kohler had no record,. He said, he was waiting on Kohler for the part and repeatedly failed to produce proof of the order. A Kohler exec claimed there was no backorder on that part. I had to hire a true Kohler rep 7/2025. It had never been started and the control panel issue was due to a bad install.

We hired Sailfish to install a standby Generac generator almost a year ago and the job has not been completed. I paid 1/2 down for the work including the generator and transfer switch. The generator was delivered months ago and now just sits in our yard not connected. They never pulled a permit for the job and now I have discovered they are NOT even a licensed contractor. They made promises that were not kept and now do not even return calls or email. I would NEVER recommend them ... BEWARE!!
