Sears Heating and Cooling - Tacoma

Two man installation crew were sloppy, failed to re-install a door they removed to remove the furnace. Furnace owners reference documents were left in another room. Little or no information furnished to owner on the new thermostadt.

Their sub-contractors All Seasons were fantastic!!! If I ever need heating and/or cooling I know who to call!!!

Rep came out and looked at what I had. Sat down with me explained what they could do and gave me a bid. I took it and within two weeks my new heat pump was in and working. I'm very pleased.

The service I received from Sears was great. The salesman was very knowledgeable and I feel sold me an outstanding product. However, the company that was contracted to do the install was not so impressive. I was originally told that they were 2 1/2 weeks wait to install. I waited almost 6 weeks. I called several times to the scheduler and was told that they were waiting on a part. The scheduler finally switched me to another contract company and the installation was started a short time later. The crew arrived in the afternoon and was not able to complete the install in one day. It took another four days before they arrived to finish. Again I called the scheduler and was told that they were waiting on a part. This shows me that they are just behind and using that as a general excuse to shut the customer up. During the installation there were several items in question. The heat pump was initially installed under the deck steps and later had to be moved because it would not pass inspection there. I noticed a lot of finger pointing, even though "the Leads" were there at the time. During the install of the thermostat, they drilled up through my kitchen floor and again through the trim on the kitchen wall. I would purchase from Sears again, however, I would not allow CoolTech to perform the install. CoolTech did make all corrections and did apologize for the problems, but I don�t think that a higher quality company would have made these mistakes in the first place. My recommendation is to stop working with the lowest bidder.
