During the initial visit for the estimate, the people from Sear's said that my old thermostat would work for the hybrid unit we were installing. However, when the installers came, they discovered that it would not work, resulting in 2 more weeks and 2 more days of my time fixing that error. To make matters worse, Sears had promised that what makes them different is that the project was paid 100% on completion, but they charged my credit card after the initial install, when my system still didn't work for another 2 weeks. When I asked about the charges, I was told there was nothing they could do about it. Definitely won't use Sears again.

Plan for a long time for the initial visit. When they came out to estimate my job it took 3 hours. The price was fair and they offered financing which is nice for an $8000 purchase. The pricing policy they have is great. The agreed upon price at the time of sale is the final price. Very important for me as the HVAC installer had to redo over half of the duct work in my house. It was a liitle slow to start, but overall I'm extremely satisfied.
