Sears Heating and Cooling - Charlotte

was told new heat pump would heat and cool all rooms but it does not. was told the drip pan would be changed it was after I came home from work and made a few phone calls. was told the coper tubeing would be changed it was not. was told would get $1500 tax credt I only got $600.

We felt very satisfied with the quality of our AC installed and customer service was excellent. Our salesman even loaned us a window AC at no cost so we could remain in our home while waiting the week to have our AC installed. It was too hot to remain in the house otherwise. The price was about 1000 higher than other AC companies we checked into but we like sears products.

Sales people were knowledgable and not pushy. They came at a time that was conventient for me and not them. The contractors were polite and helpful. Did a great job cleaning up when finished. They were not intrusive. Overall my experience was great.

VERY expensive, it seemed that what they were selling was the Sears name and that was worth the extra $2,000 they were asking. The salesman talked down to me as if I had no brain. When I asked him for info about what system he was putting in he said - and I quote - "a good one". He later said if he knew I was an engineer (which I not) he would have talked differently to me. I reminded him that he knew I was an analyst. I'd throw him off my property if he returned.

They did a great job. The system is Working beautifully The installers were professional and friendly. I would recommend them highly.

Sears is the only company that wanted to solve my specific problem. Every other company wanted wanted to replace my entire system for $10,000-12,000. The service was excellent.

Sears sublet this job to another company, Air Master of Salisbury, NC, who went way out of their way to get the job done. Their truck put a rod through the oil pan on the way to my house. They had the truck towed to the house so they could do the job as scheduled!

Great sales pitch and probably a good product but 'customer service' side was VERY POOR. They were not timely, did not explain what they did or did not do (although I asked several times), did not clean up after installation as told they would, and did not communicate status of the job. I would not recommend them.

I know Sears has a good reputation, but I would not have chosen them over a small company. They were great! I will call them back!
