Sal is a consummate professional with years of experience worth their weight in gold. His experience in the trades and as a builder were extremely valuable, but what was worth more was his willingness to share his expertise and helpful guidance. He was able to supply high quality cabinets at a great price as well.

I had an addition put on my home and Sal and his guys completed it despite the restrictions due to Covid, they were able to finish it just past my desired deadline although materials were harder to come by. I have to say as stressful as the situation was for my family and I we re extremely happy with the results. My wife is extremely happy to have her new kitchen and although she was very indecisive they were able to remain patient with us and work with us on critical decisions as we didn t know what to expect with a project of this magnitude. I have to say we re pleased with our remodel and if we had to do it all over again I d contact Segreto Builders.

I hired Sal based on a recommendation from another builder whose Kitchens Sal does. To be sure, I met with several GCs, the references for Sal checked out (kitchen remodels mostly) and he was the low bidder. My project is a full-on remodel plus an addition. In short, Sal was nowhere near up to the job. Sal started in November 2019 on what was supposed to be a 3 to 4months project. In June of the following year, 7 months after he started, we decided to stop work. The last straw was seeing just one guy working on doors and trim a few hours a day for 3 weeks when our project was already several months delayed. In hindsight, there were red flags. Sal on numerous occasions would complain about split level homes and how difficult they were to remodel. He also failed to do the necessary due diligence on the addition. So when he went to the town for approval he was denied due to zoning rules. Sal, the GC with all the experience could not figure it out until the town inspector himself gave him the solution to get around the zoning rules. And during the building of the addition, Sal went so far as to say that the house had too many problems, was unsafe, and suggested that we just sell it and pass off the problems to someone else. Despite the crazy suggestion, we soldiered on. The addition was finished but was not level with the rest of the house. When I inquired as to why Sal said that he simply was following the existing structure and that it was just not that easy to make a level with the rest of the house. Numerous other occasions betrayed the lack of experience and knowledge Sal has. For example, we secured our kitchen countertop guy. Sal said that his work was unacceptable and the worst job he had ever seen primarily due to a gap between the end of the counter and the wall. A family member of ours, a former contractor, noted that the walls were out of whack (despite it being a gut remodel) and that the issue was easily solved by building out the wall with some compound. This 70-year-old man came and fixed it in a matter of 1.5 hrs. Another issue was the backsplash and crown molding on the kitchen cabinets. Sal installed the crown molding before the backsplash. When we told him that we wanted to tile the backsplash up to the ceiling in certain areas, that became an issue too. He complained that we should have told him beforehand and that now he had to get all new cabinet crown molding trim which would cost extra. To give you an idea of all the extras, they total $40k or more. By this time we were already getting a bit tired of his lack of customer service, insane cost overruns, and inability to come up with solutions. So we started seeking advice from other GCs. They all came up with some solutions to this issue independently. So either Sal is incompetent or just looking to fleece us out of more cash; bad either way. Sal also failed to properly advise us and manage a full reno project. It was not until the siding was going up (we used another company because Sal was overpriced) that it dawned on us that we did not have a single outlet for our large back yard or even a spigot for a hose. It is beyond me that Sal at no point thought that someone spending well over $200k on a full home remodel would want an outlet and hose in the backyard. Nothing in our house is done, NOTHING! We have had several GCs come in and scratch their heads at what has been done, with a couple saying that they do not want to take the risk because this guy (Sal) does not look like he knows what he is doing. The electrical is specifically an issue. It is an absolute mess. And it is no surprise that the subcontractor on the electrical is, drum roll, please...Sal himself. Do not fall into the trap. Stay away from this guy.

"I had to stop the project after I walked on the customer doing improper and illegal work under my license. The work was done by an unqualified person and I tried to explain the rules but they did not comply. I take pride in my work and it shows based on past reviews and recommendations."

Sal and crew just finished our kitchen. What a transformation! Kitchen turned out better than expected. Sal is very easy to work with and so was the rest of his guys. They're always on time and the project finished within timeline. We are very happy with our brand new kitchen and if we were to do more projects, Sal is on the top of our list!

The kitchen looks great. Nicer than we expected when we talked about replacing our kitchen. Team performed extra minor tasks that came up during the project. Project took extra time to finish up, but was able to use kitchen during that time. The cabinets that were delivered had some issues which were handled by Segreto Builders. Extra costs added to the project were reasonable and understandable. Wished we had better understanding of allowances used or not used on the project.

Very happy with all the work that was done, which includes two baths and our kitchen. We have received numerous compliments on the job. They worked the job around us living in the residence with little inconvenience to us. Prompt responses to calls and emails made it easy to work out issues. I'd do it again.

Hired Sal to do a complete gut reno of our kitchen. His pricing model is great as he gives a base quote that includes everything except appliances, and can then upgrade from there. We spent a morning at a showroom where we picked out cabinets, tiles, countertops, etc, all while he was making the adjustments on his laptop so we can get a future view before any work was done. He was very attentive to our questions and went over everything with us before, during and after. There were a few unforeseen issues that came up along the way and he made sure to explain the issue and give us options on how to proceed before going any further. Great job.

work was good but it took too long. There were delays that were unnecessary if the job were better planned.

We recently bought a new house and wanted to remodel it before we move in. Our project was very complex in terms of scope and timeline, but since our budget was very limited, it made everything even more difficult. Sal took on this job for both materials and labor. He worked within our budget and helped us make smart sacrifices to deliver the entire scope. Sal is a man of his word which is critically important in this business. always been very responsive (even nights and weekends) and completed everything he said he was going to do. His team is great - they clean up and very organized.

Sal is very professional and has been a pleasure to work with. He followed through on all aspects of the project, even those that were not part of the original plan (additional requests from me). He had great ideas to maximize my space and incorporated my ideas wherever possible. He was very considerate of my budget throughout the process. He maintained an open line of communication, so there were never any surprises and assisted in handling an unforseen plumbing issue without a problem. My project is scheduled to be completed in the next few days which falls within the timeframe scope of the contract. I am thrilled with the results!

Sal and his workers were professional and did the job on time and with no trouble. They did a good job cleaning up everyday and the kitchen came out great. Sal was particularly very helpful with making reasonable suggestions without ever being pushy or trying to get us to go with upgrades that we didn't want. Basically he was a good consultant as well as a good contractor. A few months later we have had one minor issue, and Sal is coming to fix that without any problem. His electrical work is also top notch. I'd recommend Segreto builders for a kitchen or any similar remodel project.

Sal (the owner) is a great guy, very honest, helpful and professional. His team was polite and hard working and full of good ideas. We are very pleased with the final result and Sal's continued connectivity to us long after the project has ended. The project went well beyond a kitchen remodel and Segreto Builders was easily capable of managing all aspects of the total renovation. We will definitely be using them in the future for any additional work we will have done.
